Title: Injured wrist
Post by: Kentactic on August 09, 2012, 05:04:37 PM
Long story short i was throwing a softball a lot and now my wrist is weak and hurts still two months later. I cant even support my shotgun one handed  very well. Any ideas to solve my problem? heat? ice? bionic arm?

I get tendon injuries all the time. The best medicine for it is time and exercise. Your probably going to end up with future injuries throughout your whole arm as you get stronger.
I had the same kind of injury and it drove me nuts not being able to do anything with that one hand.  Right now i have something up in my left shoulder that's just started to heal.

Two months means it's not muscle.  Probably tendon or ligament.  If the tendon or ligament is not torn and is only 'out of place', I would suggest a chiropractor.  In my experience this kind of thing can be resolved with only one adjustment.  However, if a tear is involved, either wait it out and see OR go to an orthopedic doctor....he will likely recommend surgery to repair the tendon or ligament.

One DIY thing you could do at home would be infra-red treatment to reduce pain and speed up natural healing...even for tears.  Some rehab facilities will offer infra-red treatments when prescribed by a doctor....but its going to take take time out of your day, several days a week.  A few years ago, when I learned, through personal experience, how well infra-red therapy worked, I purchase my very own re-furbished infra-red therapy device from "Anondye Therapy."  >>> http://www.anodynetherapy.com/ (http://www.anodynetherapy.com/) <<<  This is not 'new age voodoo'.  It's been used in veterinary medicine for a long time with outstanding results.  It's been a very good investment for me.

Thanks for the tips guys. I kind of figured its a tendon or something because my whole bicept was destroyed and its long since healed but the wrist pain remains.

I prefer carpal tunnel to the headache of a GF right now. Left hand is for special occassions only.
