Good subject JoJo.
Me I buy a steel barrel for all of my burning trash as we do not have trash pick-up where we live.
A 55 gallon steel barrel / drum costs $15-. I put in four 1"x 8" slits in the sides about 1" from the bottom of the barrel equally spaced around the drum with a skill saw.
These barrels last for about four years before the constant burning of trash, snow, and rain before they start to rust through. We empty the barrels about once a year in the pasture next to our cabin.
Talking about trash: Our non-meat scraps goes into the compost pile. Our meat scraps and other garbage not destined to be burned or put into the compost pile goes to a friends dumpster at his pub about once a week. Yes, he has given me permission to use his dumpster.
In a situation where I should not leave the compound, the meat and some other things will be given to the dogs and cats that share our cabin.
