Well with all of the reports that this years flu season is as bad as 2009's I thought we needed a section where folks can check in and share. (Share - Good God, I am turning into a flaming snowflake!)
So far since lets say USA Thxgiving, the worst that MrsMac and I have received was a cold. Specifically, the cold I came home with from the Shot Show this year.
I am now 100% fourteen or so days later after first seeing signs of the cold but Mrs Mac is only 80% or so.
Locally as has been reported on the AM radio, the hospitals are full and are shipping less severe and recovering cases to facilities other than hospitals like rehabilitation facilities and some local FEMA type comm centers. With that written, at least locally, there has been minimal deaths due to the flu though - I think only (sorry) one or two.
Now with that written, a friend of our groups son and extended family have the flu and have been recovering in-house with the help of a family member who is a nurse at the local hospital. The bummer now is, she has come down with the flu too. She even had the flu shot. This is my shocked face
Anyway, there has been some local ad's requesting people to...
1) Stay home if you do not need to go out,
2) If you have a cold or the actual flu, stay home and not be spreader, and
3) Focus on the usual ways to avoid a airborne illness, e.f wash your hands often, use hand sanitizer often if
your do go out and avoid crowds.
How are you faring this season?
?
