What the hell is wrong with people? This old guy crawled across a parking lot after his leg was broke in three places while being carjacked. People just walked around and past him while ignoring him.
Between this and the shoe riots of late people are acting like animals. I guess he's lucky someone didn't stop to empty his pockets.

no offense but why would you hope for a different outcome while walking when in uniform? if anything id expect less people to pull over because they know your in shape. ive never been in the military but if i was i wouldnt want any special treatment from society. actually come to think of it... i dont think i like this "war hero, Veteran of foreign war" thing.... missleading to new comers...
a better test would be running down a road in the middle of no where in a wedding tuxedo...then i think people should maybe stop to see if you need a ride.

just to add another horror story to the mix... the wife tells me today that a special-needs girl at a Macon, Ga. highschool was gangraped recently (her mom is a teacher in the district)...... anddddd..... the parents were never notified, the participants not arrested for days because the school admin. kept it on the DL..... fucking trash...

Kenny; That is not the point. I didn't except the ride and I wouldn't have even if they offered. I would have given thanks but I wouldn't have taken the ride.
The point is the purely respect and appreciation.

but everyone else. Should appreciate the sacrifice I & my brothers have made.

Some do. But honestly, and I don't know if anyone else has noticed it, but lately there has been what seems to be a very contagious epidemic of "I don't care about anything" that seems to be spreading across the country.
It must be something people are breathing in the air. That's the only thing that explains what has been going on with people here lately.

as far as hitch hiking,
i give people rides all the time
and it seems every time i go out for a nice walk i have someone stop and offer me a ride, even though i am open carrying
i think its really all in where you live
out here its a real friendly place, and its full of college kids so hitching a ride is quite common
