PAVN General Giap Dies
« on: October 04, 2013, 10:35:54 AM »
A history teacher before the war, he was one of Ho Chi Mihn's earliest followers. His wife and children were tortured to death by the French when he fled the country. He was responsible for the victory at Dien Bien Phu and was called to lead the Tet Offensive when the other commander died of a heart attack.

So communists don't live forever?.   They sure as hell seem to live longer than I would like.  Take Castro for example.  Must be that govm't sponsored health care.  The article doesn't mention all those they killed after the US pulled out.  Poor bastards.  Rot in hell commie.

You're right, they conveniently omit that. I don't think many American newspapers are going to report this.

Anyone know if he wrote any books about tactics or military strategy?

He may have been a commie bastard, but he was a Jedi when it came to guerilla warfare. The fact that he was a history teacher before the war probably has alot to do with that.

He authored several works on warfare, but I don't know if any English translations are online or even in print.
