so i've spent quite a bit of time in the occupynola livestream chat (haven't been able to make it out to the protest yet, I've been at home with my daughter)
but this is what I can say about what I see in the chat:
- plenty of sheep and/or trolls as expected
- surprisingly, I'm impressed by how many level-headed people are chatting despite the sheep and trolls
- a majority of them are leftists as expected, but I've brought a Libertarian element to the chat and several of them are pretty damn openminded.
- most of them agree that both liberals and conservatives share a common enemy, and the specific ideological differences should be put aside for now, and hashed out later once the common enemy is out of the way.
I must say, I've gained a bit more respect for many of them. you have to filter out the dummies just like you have to with anything else.
I specifically asked the chat room "how would you feel if a large group of Gadsden Flag flying, Libertarian and/or conservative good ol' boys showed up to stand with you" and the response was overwhelmingly positive. they WISH guys like us would join them. most of them don't expect us to accept their leftist views, but they want to be unified against the common enemy which is the Fed, bank/wall st./gov corruption. they agree that political differences should put aside until this goal is reached.
I'm pleasantly surprised to tell you the truth. (I even got a group of them talking about prepping for a little while last night. [url=http://www.freesmileys.or)
