Very quiet

  This board has been very quiet lately it's as if everyone is waiting for the other shoe to drop.
 The democrat house held a circus on Wednesday and came off looking like a bunch of clowns. Then they tried to do it again on Thursday but AG Barr gave them the middle finger which sent them into a tizzy. While frothing at the mouth they said they were going to bring contempt charges against him fully knowing that they can't because he was not  subpoenaed.
 Everyone one is waiting for the IG report including the President about how many will be indited.
Where is the beginning of the end?

I'm broke AF, waiting for orientation at new job since beginning of March. I start monday. Once income flows in, I plan to begin some projects and post them up here.

I am just in a state of bewilderment at the moment.

Current events and the rhetoric flying around are just to far down the rabbit hole.

I am speaking about here in the UK as well as in my home country the U.S.

While I am keeping an eye on things. The stupidity is so strong in current events that I am withholding my opinions at the moment.

I am concerned the slippery slope may be to steep and things are getting out of control. Thus there is no way to predict what is going to happen.

JoJo, looking at history of this site mid-spring tends to be a slow "post" time. I suspect that folks are ramping up outside activities leading up to Memorial Day weekend. Now if something BIG breaks political or news worthy, we will bounce back to our normal 25-30 visits a day.

There is something about the layout we have here that does not encourage scrolling and/or activity.
I cant quite put my finger on it..'

But I know more actual people on this website from years past than any other site yet I find myself checking it in a much more cursory way than other sites and as  a result post much less.

I would prefer if the "recent posts" tab was way bigger maybe even blinking red.. and located lower cloeser to where the eye goes naturally..and if we had a "Your threads" tab so one can follow where one made a thread.
Also our background color is dark. In my experience this is a [psychologically a disincentive to posting for most.

The site works fine for me.  I had been on another site and it seemed that whatever I said was criticized.  If I said white somebody else would say black and go on to prove me wrong.

I find this group encouraging and helpful.  When there is less activity I take it that people who are actually preparing, are actually preparing!

I hear face to face and via PM's from folks that they really like UP. I ask why and they for the most part point out the archives we have collected since 2011. The next comment I hear and read the most is summed up in one word...Respect.

I don't think that is in question, the content and characters of this place are great, its just the format that seems to be off somehow

 Respect for other posters is the main reason I left another very popular site and joined UP. The moderator of that site lam blasted a first time poster because he posted a question that was asked before.

I took the advice of a smart man and curbed all of my activities on my work PC as it is a huge OPSEC issue. So a lot of my previous posting time is gone.

I have also been hitting the training circuit. Just finished NC Scouts SIGINT class this past weekend. Got a TCCC at the same locale in June

I have several article in the work for American Partisan that are either tests or projects do I am also focusing on that.

Glad to see you all are still here :D
