« on: July 08, 2015, 12:25:11 PM »
Hey have you seen this?

Trading in all securities has been temporarily suspended on the New York Stock Exchange. The exchange posted the news on its website, saying "additional information will follow as soon as possible." The halt began at 11:32 a.m. Eastern. In a statement the NYSE said it was working to restore trading activity. "We're currently experiencing a technical issue that we're working to resolve as quickly as possible. We will be providing further updates as soon as we can, and are doing our utmost to produce a swift resolution, communicate thoroughly and transparently, and ensure a timely and orderly market re-open," said a NYSE spokeswoman via email. Trading on other exchanges appeared to be normal.

In Twitter people is saying American Airlines stopped its float today because of technical issues too.

Also a week ago the US couldn't give visas globally for about 20 days because of tech issues.

Really weird... Are the US experiencing a cyberattack or something?

Fasten your seatbelts guys

If you go to http://norsecorp.com and select "live attacks" you can see how the US is being cyber attacked.

Yeah I got several msg's and a call from a forum member.

According to Fox News: The computers went down at the NYSE and the reason being given is; it was a "glitch."

I am also learning that United Airlines computers were down too.

Lets watch the spin on this.

On another note: China's market is down 33% over the last three weeks.

I was watching the news and concerned about this.  Was it the beginning of something big, with that Jade Helm thing starting in a few days and all that.  Maybe China or Russia reaching out to us to see about things.

ISIS messing around with social media and stuff?

Dunno but I was a bit concerned.  Those big things, especially the NYSE and United?

But it was reported that after investigation by the government and each party involved that is was just some minor glitches in the software and no reason to be concerned about any of it.  So, no biggie, head back in the grass munching right along.

Anonmous.  I have heard of those people, but no one knows who they are.  The Blaze has an interesting article.  But it must be garbage because I can find it nowhere else.  Assuming this is accurate, I feel alot more comfortable than hearing "it was several unrelated computer glitches" in the 3 things we are discussing here.

This Is the Message Anonymous Posted Last Night Before the New York Stock Exchange Outage

Jul. 8, 2015  Kaitlyn Schallhorn

The night before the New York Stock Exchange temporarily suspended trading due to an “internal technical issue,” the hacker collective Anonymous had a cryptic message for Wall Street on Twitter.

“Wonder if tomorrow is going to be bad for Wall Street…. we can only hope,” said the tweet posted at 11:45 p.m. Tuesday.

The NYSE said it was experiencing a technical issue Wednesday afternoon and said it was not the result of a cyberbreach. Both the Department of Homeland Security and the White House said there was no indication of malicious actor involvement.

“We’re experiencing a technical issue that we’re working to resolve as quickly as possible,” the NYSE said in a statement. “We’re doing our utmost to produce a swift resolution & will be providing further updates as soon as we can.”

“The issue we are experiencing is an internal technical issue and is not the result of a cyber breach,” the statement continued. “We chose to suspend trading on NYSE to avoid problems arising from our technical issue. NYSE-listed securities continue to trade unaffected on other market centers.”

Still, Eric Scott Hunsader, a market structure expert told CNN that Wednesday’s outage was “the most significant outage since Nasdaq’s blackout” in 2013.

The NYSE resumed trading shortly after 3 p.m. Eastern time after nearly four hours.

Nemo, the  :tinfoil: folks will be out in full force today.

Bottom-line, it happened and it shows folks (I hope) that the tools we use often break or are used for alternative reasons.

I truly believe that things will get worse and worse as the summer progresses into the fall. The core group here at UP get it and have been doing things to meet the challenge. What worries me are the people who have none nothing or continue to "poo-poo" our concerns and the work we are doing.

The futures are up across the board this morning.

With China's market crashing lets watch GM and Apple stock over the next five or so business days.  hope I do not have to explain Apple;however GM noe is the largest seller of vehicles in Asia.

Then there articles coming out reporting that South America countries are the next red flag. Case in point here is an article I ran across this morning.

Quote
The 'most vulnerable': After years of checkered progress, Latin America is the "most vulnerable" region to China's sputtering economy and market meltdown, experts say. It's become a trade battleground area between the United States and China.

China is the biggest trade partner to many Latin countries, but the U.S. has tried to reassert its presence in recent months. Still, China's sluggish growth is pulling Latin America down with it....

China is getting into Argentina big time, they are going to place a space exploration base in the south, although everything indicates is just a military base.
All of that just paying pennies as current Argentinian government is desperate for dollars
