My wife and I where talking about this last night and it got to the point of yelling at her about how war is hell and we do things over there that are animalistic and wrong, because we are in war.

The theory that if you shoot at me or mine you better put us down, cause we will come and hell will be with us. Comes to mind.

The only thing i disagree with is that they tapped it and threw it on YouTube.... It's a dead enemy body in a warzone. Who fucking cares. They have drug our bodys by the neck and burned them on our bridges...

Civilians that have never been in a firefight are never going to understand the mix of emotions that get all mixed up with adrenaline because they've never experienced it.  They don't know about things that build up in you, the fear, the sense of duty, or the anger.  Most American civilians have a sense of right and wrong and that's what they base their feelings on.  They don't understand war or that it goes both ways on the battlefield.

That said, I never had the desire to piss on a dead enemy.  I did kick one while calling him an s.o.b. though.  He didn't feel it and it didn't really make me feel any better about why I hated him.  Thinking about it now I think he was just doing an unpleasant job the same as we were.  I wish he had died about four minutes earlier.

I agree with you and I could go through the whole "been there done that" spill, I found that the only way I keep from getting angry with my fellow country men (mainly civies) is to not hold them accountable for experiences they never had. War sucks. Fellow Marines bleeding to death before you sucks. Let these men do as they wish, for they signed the contract to bear the burden of our freedom and will bear the anxiety inherent with their actions. As for the Marine who filmed it, he is what we call a "blue falcon" and that shame is his to bear.

My anger and fear carried me threw. Yes I hold sone of it deep inside. But it is my personal red button that I know I can switch on and off. It is my cross to bear and i will do so accordingly.

 I am also reinlisted into the army and am an active duty soldier. So even if i have served in combat, been injuried to the point of leaving the corp but healed up and reinlisted. These are my choices and they are based on the life i have seen taken away and brought back on the battlefeild as well as the family come from.

 Back on topic. The dumb part in all of this was that dipshit that filmed it. What part of this makes them think they would not get into trouble. People don't wanna see what hapeens in war. They want the die hard, we where soldiers style of it. Most of the people looking at this shit online  are not old enough to in list into the military and probly dont wanna go.fight.a war anyway

im not going to talk on right or wrong of what happened because maybe guys do go through mental shit out there and this helps them some how?... and if thats the case more power to them.

Ken, I understand what you're saying and why you're saying it.  Being in a hot zone and being in a McDonald's facing a bad guy are two very different things.  I'm not going to judge those marines.  Was it pretty?  No.  Was anything they were dealing with that day pretty?  No.  Shit happens.  Soldiers go through that shit.  I don't think they should be judged from over here.  What they did doesn't make them dogs.  It makes them men who have lived through shit.  Men who hope they live through more shit to come tomorrow.  Don't judge them, just try to understand them.

yeah i never called them dogs and im not judging them for what they did... but personally id make a best effort to ignore the dead bodies all together... think of that as my pissing on them. 

EDIT: i mean imagine you just got killed by some american and your souls floating up right before its dragged to hell and the guy who just killed you steps over your body and keeps walking like you arent even there. that would be fucked up...your whole life meant nothing to that soldier.. hes probably stoked the guys are so upset they are pissing on his body.
