The New Brace Pistol Law Is A Trap
« on: January 20, 2023, 10:27:35 AM »
Before you read this and then watch the short video, I need to write this. It took me 354-days to get my stamp for my suppressor.

Quote
BLUF.  Your form has 88 days before it turns sour and gets automatically rejected.  In other words, it times out.  The ATF can't complete approvals at their normal pace in < 88 days, much less with millions of gun owners submitting forms for SBRs.  When your forms time out, it creates enforcement action for the ATF since you now have an unapproved SBR, for which you have sent your name, pictures, address, SS # and virtually every other piece of identifying information. Read that again. ENFORCEMENT ACTION. It's a trap". - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DggOmUXxVWY

So, the best option is to simply not apply for the stamp, or to dispose of the braces and not use them?  This entire debacle reminds me of New York's SAFE ACT, which required semi-auto gun owners to register their weapons.  If I remember correctly, there was a less than 10% compliance rate.  There are literally millions of braces in the hands of shooters.  The government continues to poke the hornets nest.

A common tactic of tyrants it to make SO MANY LAWS with grave consequences if broken, that NOBODY CAN COMPLY WITH ALL OF THESE hundreds of thousands  REGULATIONS and hence the politicians in charge can haul away virtually anyone.  As the quote goes "show me the man and I'll find a crime.".  An example is the U.S. tax code which even THEY don't fully understand.

All of the pistols that do not have buffer tubes are easy - take the brace off and replace with a picatiny single point sling adapter with sling. Put sling around your shoulders and adjust so that it is tensioned as you point the pistol at arms length. Dispose of braces at a safe location.
For those with buffer tubes, I am not sure of a fix.
