I remember when I wrote a post concerning the lethality of the 22 that there were those saying it wasn't a "kill caliber". Maybe, maybe not. Sadly, .22 pistols killed 3 out of 4 of these people in a home invasion committed by the daughter in PA.

To add to that one...Wasn't the Australian baseball player shot with a .22 last month?
-
I never said you can't kill with a .22, I've always said that guns kill. Except AKs ;)
-
YEAH! "Except AK's! :hiding:

Ah yes, the mighty, mystical AK. Gift from the God of War.
Not only does it never need maintenance,
never fail to fire due to water, sand, or being run over by a Humvee,
can eat up even low priced steel cased ammo like it was candy,
and is never a worry about messing up it's appearance with scratches and dings because it's already so damn ugly.
It can also be used as a club to beat your opponents to death with. :dancingGrenade:  :dancingGrenade:

.22 is a really deadly caliber, the problem is that it doesn't have stopping power or good penetration.
Everyday thousands of people dying of .22 hits could testify that.

I have nothing but respect for the good ole .22lr. As for penetration I suspect it might surprise more than a few people in solid nose form. As always shot placement is key even if the target areas are smaller, then again the cost effective nature of the round can offset the additional training required. Just one more tool in the box.

I thought this thread was going to be about the AR rifle system. Nevermind, carry on....
