Not surprised. He should be found not guilty of murder, or even manslaughter. Self-defense, I say. He was in reasonable fear for his life.

I am not sure about the laws in Texas but, if the officer did not identify hinself the guy should be ok.

At first glance, it seems like the "no-knock warrant" was not warranted. I wonder if the judge can be held in part, accountable for signing it based on what was found at the house.
If there is no more info coming forward, IMO, the accused man was 100% within his right to defend himself and family. I suspect the LEO's involved will get "their" story straight and he will take a fall.
This is one we should watch before we all jump to conclusions. I am going to put it in my Rolodex to keep going back to see if there is any changes in charges against the accused.

Over some pot??? Man , they couldn't think of a better way to carry out a warrant. I mean, wait till he and his dog step out to take a leak or something. Over kill, (literally) on the cops part. Over some pot plants, and possibly illegal guns. :facepalm:
