Time to turn Iran and significant parts of Iraq into glowing, shimmering slabs of glass.

I am truly amazed that what happened in paris hasn't happen in the states yet.
-
Yeah.. I am surprised it has not happened here in the uk

It's just a matter of time I suspect.

Well I do know that here in America there are quite a few folks CCing - Many more starting today.
There are three things that we have to look forward too between now and when (IF) a new US President is sworn in:
> Economic turmoil - From a recession on up to total collapse,
> Caliphate - Just look at the invasion into the EU from the Middle East this past 3 months, and
> Domestic Terrorism - Not just in the States but around the globe. Here in the States I suspect we are going to revisit
the violence of 1968 BUT 10 fold worst. I suspect it will be a combination of Paris Type of attacks on soft targets to a
cultural revolution we saw in the French and Bolshevik Revolutions as well as what we saw when Mao was in power.
We live in interesting times folks. :zombitron:

It is sad and tragic - my thoughts and prayers are with them. Je suis Charlie.
:sarcasm: I guess there weren't enough American tourists there this time.

I would hazard a guess that scum like this are afraid of a populace that could be armed. Might spoil their plans. Notice that they target only the weak and defenseless.
While all the perps deserve to die, would be nice to capture a couple, take em to a farm where they can be eaten alive by hogs. Then put the film out for all to see. Might make them change their ways.
-
Never forget that you are far more likely to die at the hands of your government than by the terrorists they claim to protect you from.
While religious nuts are dangerously ignorant, the most dangerous religion holds its faith in a government. There are millions of them all around you. I recognize their lacking cognitive ability and avoid confrontation as much as possible. If a lion is around you don't try to reason with it. You just avoid it.

Or kill it before it can kill you.

To match the threat level for the analogy, you'd be fighting the lion bare handed. It's a fight you can't win when it's the majority of the force all around you.

I go nowhere bare handed. So I would avoid the lion if I could. Or do as I said if it did not like that idea and wanted me . . ..

If you've got a belt fed 50 on a turret on the roof of your hummer, that's still considered bare handed in comparison to the majority of human force around you. They could destroy you even if they literally were bare handed.

I would not go alone.

The state has all the guns. Comply or go to prison. Simple as that. Fuck your moral conscious.
-
They don't have them all. France, yes, but I was able to salvage my boat.

Well yeah lol. Not literally. When I say they have all the 'guns' I mean they have all the power. You only have the firearms that they begrudgingly allow you to have (namely ones that can't pierce M1 Abrahms tanks). But I guess that is a small price for them to pay to allow us to 'think' that we have some kind of power.
-
I feel terrible for the civilians that lost their loved ones that night (even if they were mostly French) but my tinfoil hat has been on since I read that first report on Saturday. The whole thing feels a little off to me.

Right, the state has the majority of force. Morality is subjective and your version isn't worth shit if the majority of force doesn't agree with you.
Might is as "right" as anything really. They key is to lead the big dumb beast known as the majority of force, toward better ideas for human interaction. The beast moves really slow unfortunately but you aren't going anywhere without it.
