I figure something like this to cause them to re-open an investigation on this type thing, 11 days before a presidential election and to notify Congressional Committees by letter shows some game is afoot.

FBI reopens Clinton probe after new emails found in Anthony Weiner case
October 28, 2016, FoxNews.com

The FBI has reopened its investigation into Hillary Clinton’s use of a private server while secretary of state after discovering new emails – apparently during the probe of former Rep. Anthony Weiner’s sexting – in a stunning turn of events just days before the presidential election.

FBI Director James Comey informed top members of Congress in a letter Friday that the bureau has “learned of the existence of emails that appear to be pertinent to the investigation.”

Comey did not detail those emails, saying only that they surfaced “in connection with an unrelated case.”

An FBI source, though, confirmed to Fox News that the new emails were discovered after the bureau seized devices belonging to disgraced ex-Rep. Weiner and his wife Huma Abedin, a top Clinton aide who recently announced she was separating from the former congressman. The New York Times first reported on the Weiner investigation connection, noting the FBI had been probing texts Weiner sent to a 15-year-old girl.

As Donald Trump and congressional Republicans seized on the FBI’s decision, interim Democratic Party leader Donna Brazile simply tweeted, “Good grief,” after the news of the Anthony Weiner connection broke. The Clinton campaign called the decision to revisit the case so close to the election “extraordinary,” and urged Comey to provide more details.

Comey gave only a brief overview in his letter to lawmakers of what prompted their decision. He wrote that the investigative team briefed him on the information a day earlier, “and I agreed that the FBI should take appropriate investigative steps designed to allow investigators to review these emails to determine whether they contain classified information, as well as to assess their importance to our investigation.”

He said the FBI could not yet assess whether the new material is significant and he could not predict how long it will take to complete “this additional work.”

The move comes after Comey and the Justice Department decided in July not to pursue charges over Clinton's email practices, saying at the time that the investigation was finished.

Comey later came under criticism from Trump, GOP lawmakers and others who claim the investigation downplayed the mishandling of classified information during Clinton's tenure.

Trump, speaking to cheering supporters Friday afternoon in Manchester, N.H., praised the FBI for having the “courage” to “right the horrible mistake that they made” – saying he hopes that is “corrected.”

“Hillary Clinton’s corruption is on a scale we have never seen before,” Trump said. “We must not let her take her criminal scheme into the Oval Office.”

In a nod to the significance of the FBI’s announcement, Trump quipped: “The rest of my speech is going to be so boring.”

Other GOP lawmakers also weighed in, urging the bureau to pursue a thorough new probe.

“The FBI’s decision to reopen its investigation into Secretary Clinton reinforces what the House Judiciary Committee has been saying for months: the more we learn about Secretary Clinton’s use of a private email server, the clearer it becomes that she and her associates committed wrongdoing and jeopardized national security," House Judiciary Committee Chairman Bob Goodlatte, R-Va., said in a statement.

Republican National Committee Chairman Reince Priebus said the discovery must be “serious” for the bureau to investigate this close to the election.

Clinton did not respond to questions from reporters about the development as she landed in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, and did not address the matter while speaking to supporters in the same city.

But Clinton Campaign Chairman John Podesta sharply questioned the FBI's move and said Comey should "immediately provide" more information.

"Upon completing this investigation more than three months ago, FBI Director Comey declared no reasonable prosecutor would move forward with a case like this and added that it was not even a close call. In the months since, Donald Trump and his Republican allies have been baselessly second-guessing the FBI and, in both public and private, browbeating the career officials there to revisit their conclusion in a desperate attempt to harm Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign,” he said in a statement.

Podesta said “we have no idea what those emails [that have come to light] are and the Director himself notes they may not even be significant.”

According to a source connected to the Clinton campaign who spoke to law enforcement, the FBI has four devices – one belongs to Abedin, and at least one belongs to Weiner. So far, no classified information has been found on the devices, Fox News is told.

The development comes 11 days before the general election, and is the latest shockwave to hit the race. Clinton had been gaining in the polls over Trump in the wake of the release of footage showing Trump talking about groping women and subsequent allegations of sexual assault and harassment against him which he denies.

However, daily revelations from hacked Clinton campaign emails obtained by WikiLeaks have become a headache for the Democrat's campaign. The resumption of the FBI probe poses a potentially bigger problem.

Ron Hosko, former assistant director of the FBI, told Fox News in a telephone interview that retired FBI officials were "livid" at Comey over the fact that charges were not brought against Clinton in round one of the investigation.

"He lit her on fire and then walked away," Hosko said of Comey holding a news conference laying out Clinton's mishandling of classified information but then not pressing criminal charges.

Hosko said he still defends Comey for not pressing charges because the FBI always has to make a decision "based on what they have" at the time. Hosko said he thinks agents found emails that made them say, "Oh my God look at what we have."

House Speaker Paul Ryan called the FBI decision "long overdue."

Comey memo to FBI staffers says election, timing required disclosure of renewed probe
October 28, 2016, FoxNews.com

FBI Director James Comey told his bureau he broke with custom in alerting lawmakers that the investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server was being reopened because of its political sensitivity, a source told FoxNews.com.

In an internal memo, the beleaguered director noted that the FBI typically would not communicate with the public when reopening a case, according to a Department of Justice source. But Comey said he had to in this case because Clinton is seeking the White House in an election on Nov. 8.

The bombshell revelation that newly discovered emails had prompted a new look into whether Clinton or those around her had broken the law my mishandling sensitive information rocked the race for the White House Friday.

Comey informed eight Republican lawmakers that new emails had surfaced that were relevant to the investigation, and warranted a new look.

Comey announced in July that the FBI had wrapped up a year-long investigation into Clinton’s use of a private email server for official business and concluded that while she was “extremely careless,” he could not recommend that the Justice Department seek an indictment. The decision was blasted by Republicans, and FoxNews.com reported earlier this month that career DOJ and FBI workers were furious.

Word of the server, at Clinton’s home in Chappaqua, N.Y., first broke in early 2015. Clinton had used the private email server to conduct government business while serving from 2009-2013, but insisted that she handed over all work-related emails to the State Department.

The FBI investigation determined that thousands of messages that would later be marked classified by the State Department retroactively were on the server. Federal law makes it a crime for a government employee to possess classified information in an unsecure manner, and the relevant statute does not require a finding of intent.

I doubt there are new emails and if there any they are unimportant. The news got out that the number two man in the FBI investigation is financially connected to the Clinton's to the tune of $675,000.  My opinion is Comey will call for a grand jury to get the investigation off of his and the FBI's back and to make it  look like the are impartial.
Again Comey dropped a bomb on a holiday weekend just like crooked politicians do.

I tend to agree with what JoJo wrote.

There are a bunch of theories out there in the blogsasphere. My favorite one is....

"Tim.com*" (Not a site) a famous computer hacker or group of hackers is reportedly the group who has been feeding Wikileaks not the Russians. This theory has been out for awhile. No new news here.

Julian Assange announced that his group will be releasing more Clinton emails next Tuesday, Nov. 1 - Ones that will end in Clinton's arrest. It is speculated that before they come out the President asked Comey to reopen the investigation. In essence to pre-emp the media storm that will come. This storm will affect his legacy as it is becoming increasingly clear that Obama was aware of Clinton's servers.

It will be fun to see the Clinton proxy's come out over the weekend and spin the message to make it Trump, Right Wing Conspiracy, Comey or the Russians picking on a women. Here comes the glass ceiling cry again.  :suicide:

It will be an interesting nine days until the election. Does anybody think that President Obama will attempt to stop the elections?  :tinfoil:

* It is believed that Tim.com is a group of former NSA employees or a group of hackers that have hacked into the
NSA database. This group is in essence laundering Mrs. Clinton and the DNC's emails through Wikileaks.

Been thinking a bit on this one.... Always a bad idea for me.  :lmfao: :lmfao: :lmfao: :lmfao:

So here is how I see things.

The timing is prearranged.

The FBI is going to do a major piece of work enough to create a tangible issue.

Killary is going to win the election no matter what happens.

Obummer is going to issue a wide sweeping pardon to her and her associates.

End Game.

Seem someone agrees with me that there is some There there.  Or I with him, whichever.

And I'll bet you a diamond against your donut that if she is not elected obummer signs a pardon before he leaves office.

Bernstein: FBI Would Not Reopen Case Unless New Evidence Was "A Real Bombshell"

Tim Hains, October 28, 2016

Watergate journalist Carl Bernstein comments on the FBI's shocking Friday afternoon announcement that they are reopening the investigation into Hilary Clinton's email server because new evidence has come to light.

Quote
CARL BERNSTEIN: Well, there's no question that the e-mails have always been the greatest threat to her candidacy for president, that her conduct in regard to the e-mails is really indefensible and if there was going to be more information that came out, it was the one thing, as I said on the air last night, actually that could really perhaps affect this election.

We don't know what this means yet except that it's a real bombshell. And it is unthinkable that the Director of the FBI would take this action lightly, that he would put this letter forth to the Congress of the United States saying there is more information out there about classified e-mails and call it to the attention of congress unless it was something requiring serious investigation. So that's where we are...

Is it a certainty that we won't learn before the election? I'm not sure it's a certainty we won't learn before the election.

One thing is, it's possible that Hillary Clinton might want to on her own initiative talk to the FBI and find out what she can, and if she chooses to let the American people know what she thinks or knows is going on. People need to hear from her...

I think if she has information available to her from the FBI or any other source as to her knowledge of what these e-mails might be, hopefully she will let us know what they are and what is under discussion here.

Right now we're all talking in a vacuum but I want to add here that in the last, oh, 36, 48 hours, there has been an undercurrent of kind of speculative discussion among some national security people that something might surface in the next few days about e-mails, and I think the expectation in this chatter -- and I took it as just chatter but informed chatter, to some extent -- was that it would relate to another round of WikiLeaks e-mails, which our Justice Department people seem to be saying is not the case, but there has been some noise in the national security community the last day or two of this kind of possibility of some kind of revelation.

But this is her achilles heel and we have to remember that it also comes on the -- back to the word heel -- of the revelations about the Clinton Foundation. So the confluence of all of this is bad for her as it stands now but with some knowledge she might be able to stop, turn things around, and give us some idea of what's going on in a way we might not otherwise know, and also it's very possible that some members of congress very quickly are going to get an idea of what these e-mails are, and what this is all about, and for whatever purpose put some information out there.

I know I said this before, but no way the elections will be stopped.  I thought El Generalissimo (aka Bush the Lesser) would pull some shenanigans before the election of President Obama, but that didn't happen.  One of the things that's so disturbing about the Orange Menace is his insistence that a peaceful transition of power - something that has happened in our country since its founding - isn't going to happen.  Yeah, Clinton and Trump both suck, but this is just the arse-end of our political spectrum.  Neither of them is going to disrupt the country like that.  Of course, I could be giving Trump too much credit.

This is a repost of what I wrote on another subject line. It does sound feasible and a lot less  :tinfoil:

Tangerine Menace  :lmfao: I love it!

Okay, with the Dir. Comey's letter to Congress on Friday, I suspect a 60:40 win for Mr. Trump now UNLESS some new twist comes out on Monday.

Judge Napolitano reported* on Fox News this morning that this Clinton/Abedin drama is actually a turf war between Comey and Lynch.

During the investigation of Carlos Danger fame and his texting a 15 year old girl, the FBI seized all of his electronic devises. Upon opening these devises there was over 10,000 emails sent from Huma Abedin to CD for what ever reason, much of which were forwarded Clinton emails.

The FBI asked the DOJ for a search warrant and a security clearance to look at them to determine if they held "top secret" information. If they do find Top Secret intel Abedin will be in BIG TROUBLE. AG Lynch and the DOJ have refused to give the requested clearance or warrant.

Comey and a bevy of FBI lawyers told Lynch Friday they will give her the weekend to ponder her and the DOJ's position. If they do not get what they requested they would go public Monday outlining in greater detail what they want from the DOJ, why they want it and point out that Lynch/DOJ is obstructing justice.

Let me reemphasize, at this point in time Abedin is the focus of the FBI investigation not Clinton. However, who knows what those emails hold that could/can leak Clinton to another investigation.

If the FBI does this, I would suspect an impeachment motion in the House of Lynch to follow forthwith.

* Napolitano told Fox News, that he got his information from a high ranking FBI Agent and was confirmed by a
person involved on the legal end. So not three but two confirmations.

Newest development on the new FBI Clinton/Abedin investigation.

In short, Andrew McCabe number 2 guy at the FBI, well his wife Jill Jill McCabe received a $500M contribution to her campaign from Virginia Governor McAuliffe. Once the contribution was made, the FBI refused to recommend indictment of Mrs Clinton.

Quote
WASHINGTON — Just months after the FBI launched an investigation into Hillary Clinton’s private email server, Democratic Party operatives made a generous donation to the political campaign of the wife of the FBI official who would eventually oversee that investigation.

The FBI ultimately cleared Clinton of any criminal wrongdoing, creating the impression that the Democrats may have bribed the Bureau to keep their nominee out of trouble.

According to a report published Monday by The Wall Street Journal, Virginia Gov. Terry McAuliffe, a long-time associate of the Clintons, helped funnel over $675,000 of donations into the 2015 Virginia state Senate campaign of Jill McCabe, the wife of Andrew McCabe, who is now the deputy director of the FBI. Of the total, $467,500 came directly from Common Good VA, McAuliffe’s PAC, while an additional $207,788 came out of the coffers of the Virginia Democratic Party, over which McAuliffe exerts almost total control.

Devlin Barrett, a Wall Street Journal reporter who covers the Justice Department, noted that Andrew McCabe was promoted as deputy director after the donations were made. He added:

“Mr. McAuliffe and other state party leaders recruited Dr. McCabe to run, according to party officials. She lost the election to incumbent Republican Dick Black.”

According to Barrett, the donations represented about one-third of Jill McCabe’s total campaign war chest. On Twitter, Barrett offered a simplified timeline of events:

I have seen reports that it was only $476M.

Either way, that enough $$ to take care of everyone here a half dozen times over and keep them living in high style with a double serious redoubt for each and/or all together in one.

Yeah, its a lot of money.
