I typed and then erased at least 5 or 6 comments to that video but each time I figured I'd just keep my mouth shut. I'm still 50/50 on these protests, but regardless, I want to buy that guy a beer.

also, I don't think there's any reason to doubt the guy's military status, his name can clearly be read on his shirt, and he was very bold in asserting his name and rank towards the end of the vid when the people around him asked.

I gotta admit, my chest filled with pride watching that, and absolute shame that NYPD just stood there glazed over looking brainwashed. I really do hope this gentlemen is a vet, and I hope more join his ranks in standing up to this shit. I do wish that he wore his uniform properly, it would only add to his character and what he was doing.

I'm glad a vet was standing up for people's right to protest and seek remedy for their grievances.  A Constitutional right.  I just wish the protesters would get straight on what their grievances are.  It seems every time one of them states why they are there you get a different story.  And some of them are there for reasons that would cause me to take the other side.  Scrap capitalism, the thing that built this country into the wealthiest in the world until the Government was corrupted.  Scrap the Constitution, a founding document of this country.  When they talk that stuff they lose me.  They have a right to protest for what they want, but I don't have to agree with those guys.

The ones that want to fix the problem of Corporate and Government corruption.  Hey, I agree with them.

I think that alot of the ones that hate capitalism don't even realize that capitalism is the only reason why they enjoy such a high standard of living even when they're unemployed. of course, I'm not defending the banks, and I'm certainly not defending social programs, but let's be real here. the only way the government can get the revenue to pay for these programs that allows these folks to live so well (besides printing money) is by confiscating it from successful people, and how did those people become successful? capitalism.

Peacefull protest is not a crime. I don't have to agree with the politics of these protesters to appreciate the fact that they have remained peaceful day after day. even while taking beatings from PD's from across the country. I hope those cops felt shame when they got dressed down by a MARINE. because it doesn't matter what you protest if you do so peacefully then you have every right to not get assaulted by police departments that have been bought and paid for by banking institutions. My heart fills with pride knowing that some of the best and bravest among us choose to serve their country. and will stand up for what they see as injustice in their own back yard. this is why i still have hope for America. If all of our military did that in uniform for years we might actually see some change.

I think that when we protest like this, that go on for long times and protesters get assaulted and arrested by LEO who were non-violent, they need security, and I have to say that military makes great security, plus no LEO is going to ever get away with (in public opinion) beating marines, rangers, and other soldiers to get to the protesters to beat and arrest them. 

The militarization of the police force here in America needs to stop for one. 

I don't agree with most of the people on what they say in the Occupy Wall Street stuff, as there is a lot of leftist rhetoric coming out of this, but they have a right to say what they want to say, and they have a right to protest as long as they want to until they see change.

The fact that NONE of these corrupt government and Wall Street officials are in jail after the way Main Street was screwed by both in 2008 tells me our entire system is corrupt and needs to be change, and that I can agree with them.  Government and Wall Street.

This guys is a patriot for speaking out.  I too wish he could have just a bit more articulate, it would have made it that much better.  But like said above, what are you going to say that will actually get to these tax-payer funded goons?  I think he said exactly what needed to be said at that time, TBH.
