The news that was out before the election or the basis of the story that Wash Post is reporting?  This is about the first 1/4 of the article.  I stopped just before the good parts so go read the rest.

Russian propaganda effort helped spread ‘fake news’ during election, experts say

The flood of “fake news” this election season got support from a sophisticated Russian propaganda campaign that created and spread misleading articles online with the goal of punishing Democrat Hillary Clinton, helping Republican Donald Trump and undermining faith in American democracy, say independent researchers who tracked the operation.

Russia’s increasingly sophisticated propaganda machinery — including thousands of botnets, teams of paid human “trolls,” and networks of Web sites and social-media accounts — echoed and amplified right-wing sites across the Internet as they portrayed Clinton as a criminal hiding potentially fatal health problems and preparing to hand control of the nation to a shadowy cabal of global financiers. The effort also sought to heighten the appearance of international tensions and promote fear of looming hostilities with nuclear-armed Russia.

Two teams of independent researchers found that the Russians exploited American-made technology platforms to attack U.S. democracy at a particularly vulnerable moment, as an insurgent candidate harnessed a wide range of grievances to claim the White House. The sophistication of the Russian tactics may complicate efforts by Facebook and Google to crack down on “fake news,” as they have vowed to do after widespread complaints about the problem.

 Speak about fake news, they should look in the mirror. And how dare they hack HilLIARy's emails and tell us what a lie-er she is and how corrupt.
 FBI and other government officials have admitted they released the emails no thanks to Comey. Did the Russians interfere, probably but I don't think it was on the scale that the extreme left wing Washington Post wants us to believe.

As evidenced by the collusion between Media and Clinton campaign it is obvious that fake news sites are:

CNN, WaPo, HuffPo, The Week, The Atlantic, New York Times, ABC, CBS, NBC, MSNBC
They are controlled and used without scruples by the enemies of our republic,

One thing that was made clear last election is that citizens were forced to exchange real and relevant news via social media to escape the censoring and spinmeistering of the mainstream media.

Good Journalists with relevant stories were forced onto the blogosphere only since thier stories didnt fit the enemies narrative.

The propagated meme of "fake news" is simply the drumbeat of an effort in censoring the last remaining freespace the people have left.
If they are successful we are one huge step closer to soviet style complete media control.

Eric you said it much better than I. One thing I was taught growing up was if you tell a lie often enough sooner or later people would start to believe it.
The one thing we as conservatives have to do now it to label the left wing media and all democrats as extremists and radicals but we wouldn't be liars because that is what they are.
