As far as his observation of not shooting until the threat is leaving I agree. Shoot now or don't shoot. There's your target... what are you waiting for. The vibe I got was that cop was hoping merely showing the driver his gun would make her give up. He was not prepared to kill. He popped a few purposely missed rounds to save face as she drove off.

I'd like to interrupt this thread to say that I'm not trying to piss people off with my "attitude" on the forum.  I admit that I'm a very opinionated person that has a low tolerance for hypocrisy and ignorance.  I will consider it a challenge to covey my thoughts in a more "kumbaya" manner in the future.  Sarcasm aside, I do plan to work on it. ... we now return you to the crazy dead woman in DC, no it is not Pelosi.

Aside I do agree that the time to shoot was when she was running over people, not after. Running over a Cop/SS Agent/Other isn't grounds for summary execution... Preservation of human life is another story, it would take a hard SOB to stand there squirting rounds at her instead of securing his own escape.

I understand the cops shooting to save their lives.  What confuses me about this one is that they killed her when she was in the barricades.  Also, that the news said that there were 20 cars chasing her.  They couldn't trap her vehicle with 20 cop cars?

I understand someone trying to kill you with a car isn't any different than the same person trying to kill you with a gun.  They are just using a different tool.  I'm just struck with the feeling that this one could have ended differently.  Poor whacko lady, poor motherless child.

So it seems that eye witness reports are saying the car was stopped when they opened the door and  murdered the unarmed woman.

At least that's what I've heard on the news so far. No explanation as to what they perceived as a threat at the time of the fatal shooting.

Seems awfully slow getting an official report out of the cops on this one.  It's been 3 days?

I have to tell you guys that taking my comment wondering what was going through that poor woman's head and turning it into a "fun time" event is pretty FUCKING cold and make me wish that I hadn't posting anything.  Actually, it's pretty disgusting.

For the record, in addition to the normal police investigation, so many concerns from police experts across the country have been raised about protocols that weren't followed that there is going to be a special investigation of capitol police actions in this case. 

This ill woman wasn't shooting back, my gut from everything that I've read and seen tells me she shouldn't have been executed.  Apparently, I'm not the only one who see this.  Of course in the end, as all police investigations do, it will come out as a justified execution.

It really pains me when you guys start acting like fucking assholes.  Does that count as an attack needing mod action.  Fuck it, I really don't care anymore.

Postpartum depression is a mental state caused by a chemical imbalance that happens to some women after pregnancy.  A gland , or several glands continue to produce chemicals even though her body knows it's not still pregnant.

My mother went through it once.  It makes the woman act in ways she normally wouldn't.  It passes with time after the glands finally realize they aren't supposed to be going full throttle any longer.

One of my daughters is pregnant now.  If she goes through postpartum depression and some jerk decides she's crazy and puts a bullet in her head, there would be consequences for that son of a bitch.

Understandable, some of us are callous assholes. The reasons vary but you are spot on and in the end you are the example of what we should be. Thanks for calling me out.  That said I predict it will happen again, something about old dogs and new tricks comes to mind. None the less feel free to call me on it anytime.

This goes for me, too. I sometimes forget to think of these events as happening to real people, and as such they just become a "thing" that happens. Purely subjective, in my mind, sometimes. I don't really think of it lightly...however I also don't need to let my words run without that filter. Thanks for making your voice heard, Sledge.

Being I'm the fucking asshole who started the joke I better make a statement. My gut reaction is to get defensive and say there's nothing wrong with what I said for X amount of reasons. But since I didn't say anything important I really don't care to defend it. Sledge you clearly feel much stronger against my comment then I am for it. Well now...I go away for a couple of hours and we go from crass comments to hide our feeling's of horror to where we realized we stepped on our dicks with what we wrote.

One thing to understand is that we are all living in a world that didn't exist 10, 20 or more years ago. As we navigate through these times, it is good that we have friends to point out our foo-Pa's and then to guide us. 

I trust you guys immensely and (In no particular order so get over your selves) TG, Sledge, APX, Rah, DVC, Ken, Colombo, etc, I would share a fox hole with each one of you anytime!
