Yeah, this was brought up in another thread.  Funny how so many countries think they can solve their political and social problems with a good old fashioned war.  I guess nothing soothes the unruly masses like a good war against designated or created bad guys.  There's no disputing that PR firms really earn their money.

Can china afford to go to war with its largest consumer of its goods? I mean really how can they expect maintain their own economy and job growth if they ostracize their biggest customer. And I'm sure if it did come to a world war the US would simply call our debt to china Null and void. I certainly don't know allot about foreign policy but me thinks i hear the saber being rattled not drawn. But what do i know?

 :)  That sounds pretty good to me, but I think that might depend on who wins.  Yep, we are their biggest customer and I'm sure they would have to stand to gain more than they would lose from our purchases.  Of course we are the biggest impediment to them doing what they want to do as well.

Also, China has some severe economic problems right now and the indicators show they look to be on a straight path to the bottom of the chart much like we were in 2008.  They've had a lot of riots and uprisings (thousands) due to their economy and corrupt officials.  The Chinese Communist Party is very concerned about the uneasiness growing among their citizens as they enter this period of electing new officials to run their country.  What stance the new civilian officials will take next year is unknown but the Chinese military and their views has remained a constant.  They feel war with th U.S. is inevitable.

However, I don't think that they would attempt it on their own.  Which makes me concerned about how cozy their relationship with Russian has turned in recent years.  With both of them backing Iran and Syria, I'd say the fuse has been attached to the powder keg.  Whether it actually gets lit remains to be seen.  But Israel was seen playing with matches last week.

I'm not sure it's sabotage.  It could be.  If Iran's only gasoline producing refinery goes up in a blast I think that will settle the question.

Since when is it our prerogative to protect Israel from the consequences of it's own behavior?
