I guess I was taken aback because every election in my short lifetime has never been played up like this.

You're right CH. You, OONW, and EJR914 all are making sense. There is a large difference between younger and older voters. There is also a large difference between urban and rural voters, and so and so on. (keep in mind, we're talking in general, not 100% of either group) My theory on urban vs. rural voters is urbanites see more gays, more minorities, more homeless, more illegals. So those issues are different in the way they view things maybe. Also like the song says, "A Country Boy Can Survive". You take a city boy, he doesn't handle his problems the same way a farmer does. If his car breaks down, take it to the garage, if he needs meat, go to the supermarket. If the drain clogs, call the plumber. A farmer can fix it, weld it, unclog it, or shoot it. Not that either way is right or wrong, just different. One might always have to pay to have it done, where the other might have the means to do it himself. One has the welder, the tools or the land. The same with older vs. younger. They may view things differently. (remember, we're generalizing) Although they may agree on certain things, there is differences in how they approach things. Us older guys were in our 20's and 30's once. Believe me, we had a lot more piss and vinegar in us when we were. We were also ready to go to battle at the drop of a hat. At least with your backing of Johnson and some backing Romney. We're closer to being on the same page of what we want overall. I've seen a lot of younger people that had more liberal views switch to be more conservative as they got older. Their views change, their situations change. For example: Sometimes we have to swallow our pride and do what naturally and philosophically goes against our very fiber. Say I'm a single 23 year old working my job and the boss comes along and really pisses me off and makes me feel like a piece of shit. I, being a 23 year old single guy can tell him to kiss my ass and stick his job where the sun don't shine. I'll go sleep on my buddy's couch if I have to until my next job comes along. Now, say I'm a 54 year old man with a sickly wife and kids that are depending on me for food, clothing, housing and insurance. No matter how much I would want to tell that same boss to kiss my ass, I can't. I couldn't let down my family and start over, because some asshat hurt my pride. I guess in short, I'm just saying there are different reasons why we all make choices of what we do and don't do. While we may respect your choice, we may have to choose for other reasons. Like I said, Johnson nor Romney was my first choice. Us older guys have to choose our battles, where you young bucks have more energy to fight your's. LOL!.......Just my .02

One more thing, being up here in the snow belt of Pa., I use to not have any problems handling 2 feet of snow. Now that I am older, I hate 2 feet of snow. BUT.....as long as I live here, no matter how much I hate the snow, I realize that there are some things I just can't change. We're still gonna get blizzards.

HA. Thanks MooseJaw, that helps. I'd hate to see the day when a person's judged by his voting record when, in reality, we're on the same side. But I've never had a huge stake at risk, so perhaps that's why I see it as a difference of opinion. We accepted help from France to defeat Britain in '75. Paradox? Plenty of Romney voters will turn on him if he's elected and acts to the contrary of what's expected.

All this talk of traitors and enemies makes me feel like I'm in a purge...maybe they'll let me slide after some reeducation.

But I'll admit I'm young and foolish with no idea of how the real world works.

You're young but not foolish. You apparently use your head and think about things. That's more than a lot of people do. How about these people of ALL ages that vote, yet can't tell you who the Vice President is?

Yeah, I worked with a woman that rode a Harley. She saw John Kerry ride a Harley onto the stage of the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and that was it for her. She told me he's got her vote, although she knew nothing about him or his politics. It's scary to think there are people out there like that.

Also, about your previous post I forgot to address:

I think this election has more riding on it than any previous elections I have seen in my lifetime. IMHO!

I am starting to realize that biching and shouting and debating and protesting aren't going to make changes. People are always going to be stupid, and they are always going to be ignorant. If you can make any kind of change how long would it last? 200 years?

It really comes down to two choices for me. Number 1 take life as a big joke. Laugh at it. Globalists want to overthrow our country by destroying our economy? I just laugh. Look at them taking life so seriously! Haha!

Number 2 use the upcoming events that the average ignorant inferior human does not choose to see to my advantage and become a Fascist dictator. The rise of the Eugenics Nationalist party. Hiel Grudgie!

Yep, probably the biggest thing I'm pissed about is looking into the eyes of my 2.5 yo daughter, and knowing that she is going to grow up in probably one of the shittiest Americans that Americans ever have, even back in the early 1800's, hell even in the 1700's.  That's the toughest thing to think about it.

To see people WHO HAVE A CHOICE, and yet just piss it away, because its consider odd, weird, and they want to feel accepted in the sheep flock, instead of actually giving a vote towards freedom and liberty, and they actually know what liberty and freedom is and even claim to have it in their hearts.

Yeah, it PISSES ME THE FUCK OFF!

Understandable. It makes me mad too, but I think (or at least hope) that there's a difference between those who vote for a guy like Obama and those who oppose him by voting for a guy like Romney.

I've made my decision. Johnson 2012. will he win? of course not. will I be able to sleep at night? yes.

I haven't seen the Yeager vid but from what was said about it, I agree. ok so you're a "prepper", or "patriot", or whatever other cute little label that you choose to wrap yourself in. you're still voting for the same asshole bullshit fucking elitist don't-give-a-fuck-about-you system-sustaining status-quo-loving anti-American anti-free market vile scumbag wannabe dictator as the one we have. Fuck Romney. fuck him even HARDER than Obama for having the nerve to pose as an "opposition" to the current state of things. he relishes in it. I'll "throw away" my vote on my principals.

*drops microphone on floor and walks away like a boss*

I view things almost the same way. The only difference is if you vote for Obama you've committed treason. Romdouche hasn't committed treason yet, he's just an asshole.

Romney hasn't had any teenage American boys and their friends murdered either. Or engaged in international arms smuggling. Or signed and repeatedly defended a law allowing the military to round up anyone and everyone and throw them into secret prisons forever.

Not that he hasn't supported those things either.

Very little to be honest, and not enough to matter, not enough to make a difference.  A real verifiable difference.  Full on Tyranny and Socialism, vs maybe Tyranny and Socialism lite.  Its still the same shit.

Men DIED for freedom, gave up their fortunes, for freedom, and our lazy fucking shitty asses can't even get their lazy fucking do nothing, Bag of Hot Air asses to a Poll and vote for the fucking freedom candidate?

Fuck Americans of today.  Seriously.  The founding fathers would spit on us, and then probably kick our asses for being such spoiled, bloated, fat, lazy, stupid pieces of shit, and I know we would deserve it, I know I do.  I know my ancestors would if they could.

I hope to God if there is a God and they can not look down and see America the way it is now, and see how sorry we are, including myself.  I'm sure they'd be ashamed, I'm sure they wouldn't even understand, they'd probably kick our ass into shape if the could get down here.

We're pathetic, sorry, and worthless.

If you want freedom and liberty you  have to be willing to fight and die for it, and give up everything for it, and we won't even get our lazy stupid asses to a poll and vote for the freedom candidate, because our co-workers, our family might think we're weird or fucking strange?  Really?

Fuck us, literally fuck my fellow Americans.  We are worthless.

Romney has come out and said he doesn't see ANYTHING wrong with the NDAA law when it was passed.  If that doesn't tell you something, nothing will.

Assault Weapons Ban and more Romneycare Socialism in MA... yeah.
