Its a 2 month old draft opinion circulated for commentary and input. First paperwork on discussion/negotiation/argument on the issue.
And that draft basically changes the rulings in Roe v Wade to the limits in the new case. It will continues to permit abortion to 15 weeks instead of Roe saying 20.
ASSUMING that is the final decision. REMEMBER what was leaked was a 2 month old DRAFT.
The final ruling could have changed to abortion unlawful to no change or to govt stays out of the Doc's office completely.
I looked at SCOTUS calendar (
https://www.supremecourt.gov/ ) and there are currently no dates noted as Opinion issuance days for the rest of the term. That is not unusual but they generally are issued on Mondays and Thursdays.
But you are correct. They are already going gonzobonkers about the possibility of the Dobbs shortening the "basically the govt stays out of the decision completely" time frame from 20 weeks to 15 weeks pregnancy.
