Title: SCOTUS Decision Today
Post by: Nemo on June 21, 2022, 11:23:08 AM
only one relevant here.  Be watching Thursday for more.

Short summary--  Maine pays parents school vouchers to send their kids to school in areas where the state/county does not provide or contract for secondary school.  Schools had to meet state standards and not be religious.

The religious part was fought over.

Now they can be religious schools.

Quote
Maine's nonsectarian requirement for otherwise generally available tuition assistance payments to parents who live in school districts that do not operate a secondary school of their own violates the Free Exercise Clause of the First Amendment.

Well that's some good news, wish we could've gotten that here before I spent $14k a year of my own money on a private school.

The decision issued today is good news in many States that have recently restricted 2nd  Amendment rights. More details can be found here: https://townhall.com/tipsheet/spencerbrown/2022/06/23/scotus-gun-case-n2609212
