Puerto Rico - Will Congress Bail Them Out
« on: April 21, 2016, 09:15:29 AM »
As all of us are aware, it looks like we have our own Cypress or Greece - Puerto Rico. Is Puerto Rico too big to fail and with our own $19.5T debt will we swoop in and save the US Territory?

Well there is a bill before the US House to rescue Puerto Rico from its Progressive policies which has landed them in a form of debtors prison. If the House does rescue them will this be the first step in other foreseeable recuses of states and cities in the lower 49? Will Illinois be next? Will Baltimore, Detroit or Flint be next?

Should you pay for the rescuing of Progressive experiments that have gone exponentially wrong?

Congress may be one of the few places where lawmakers could celebrate the rich history of a U.S. territory in an elaborate ceremony at one moment yet cast serious doubts on its future the next.

Such was the fate of Puerto Rico on Capitol Hill Wednesday.

House Speaker Paul Ryan, R-Wis., awarded the Congressional Gold Medal to the 65th Infantry Regiment, known as “the Borinqueneers” in a flourishing ceremony. The Borinqueneers were a segregated Puerto Rican regiment that fought on the front lines for the U.S. between World War I and the Korean War.

The Army band played Puerto Rico’s anthem “La Borinqueña” as veterans waved Puerto Rico’s flag throughout the festivities.
