Nothing breeds desperation like hunger.

We can only hope that rising food prices will cause the population to rise up against the fanatical religious regime.  80% of the population is not happy with the regime now.  President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has been issued a call to come before the Parliament to answer for mishandling the country's economy. (Read fall guy.)

If Obama had supported the Iranian uprising after their last elections we might have been able to avoid this military standoff.  But of course that didn't happen.  So here we are wondering if the higher food prices will make a difference.
