i dont think they will take any shit, and i dont blame them.

They've already had a somewhat advance SAM capabilities in place for many years now.
Not to mention, Syria said back in 1991 they wanted to buy these S-300 SAMs, and have apparently had them for a few years now (article says they've just got them in recent weeks).
I dunno. I don't really see us getting involved.

IDK, Russia has a carrier and some support ships off the Syrian coast. The French must be feeling their oats after Libya because they've dispatched a carrier to sit off the Syrian coast.
