13-Days of Diesel Left On The East Coast

Okay, we have all seen the price of diesel. Last week a local truck stop, Flying-J, had a limit of what truckers could pump into their tanks. Remember, diesel fuel is the heart of the nation. Without diesel we die. We have heard from amateur radio operators that certain points within the USA have no gas or diesel.

...Diesel = Tractors > Fertilizer > tractors > trucks to grain houses > trains from grain houses to distribution points > ships and trucks from distribution points to manufactures > trucks from manufactures to stores > your vehicle from home to stores...

The U.S. stockpile of diesel fuel, which is vital for the transportation sector and economy at large, hit a nearly two-decade low as fuel prices hit a record high Wednesday.

The nationwide stockpile of distillate fuel oil " a category that includes diesel and fuel oil " declined to about 104 million barrels, the lowest level since May 2005, the Energy Information Administration (EIA) reported Wednesday. East Coast inventories declined to 21.3 million barrels of diesel fuel or about two weeks worth of supply, the lowest level since data was first recorded in 1990.

"I wouldn't be surprised to see diesel being rationed on the East Coast this summer," John Catsimatidis, the CEO of United Refining Co., told Bloomberg on Wednesday. "Right now inventories are low and we may see a shortage in coming months." - BPR-Business & Politics

  If a few long-term power outages are placed in the mix, then you might see some marches. Bread and circuses  If the masses lose the internet or have cellphone interruptions, that might be enough to piss off the common citizen.  Once folks lose their mode of entertainment, they become bored and restless.  If this occurs during the summer months, you can bet certain portions of society will riot.  It will get out of hand quickly...then mix in some sort of monkey pox which has unknown vectors.  The kettle will begin to boil. There will be a new form of entertainment and plenty of it.    :violin: :deadHorse: :zombitron:
