Grudgie I agree with much of what you have written with one caveat: The folks rioting and petitioning the Electoral College to not vote for Trump, is a very small percentage of the folks who cast their votes for Clinton.
Here's an observation: All of this beating of the chest, crying, rioting, caterwauling, is causing the folks who did vote for Trump to think, "I obviously did the right thing!"
I have a good friend that I call L3 (Lesbian, Lady, Lawyer) who lives just outside of LA, CA. proper who too was upset that Clinton didn't win; However has been bashing all of the "chest, crying, rioting, caterwauling" folks. She commented to me that "those people are just validating the election of Trump."
When the dust settles and the statistics come out of the election, it will be interesting to read how many DEM's and Independents voted for him vs. just the GOP voters alone. I have good friends of both persuasions who held their nose and voted for Trump, then voted DEM for the other offices open locally and in the state. IMO, the DEM's would have won if they had ran a less controversial candidate. Clinton just had way too much baggage to carry cross the finish-line to win.
Here is an interesting article I read by Riaz Patel entitled,
What a Gay, Muslim, Pakistani-American Immigrant Learned Traveling to Rural Alaska the Week Before the Election. It's a short read and well worth anyone's time.
In closing, take a look at this map, by county, of Clinton and Trump wins. It tells a larger story that is not being reported.
