Apparently Putin's response is to levy sanctions against us by banning food imports.... ???

Maybe that surplus will be good for us ?

Yeah I just heard that on NPR. I thought the exact same thing you wrote.  :dancingBanana:

The only thing is we will not see the benefit for 6+ months from now.

Fox news had a bit of a report on it. Basically no more chickens to Russia, which is our biggest export place.  So about half plus of the US chicken market is gone for a year plus.

IIRC, its 7 weeks from egg to grill on chickens.  So watch bird prices fall faster than a chicken going out a from a 3rd floor window.

If you need a second magazine, its time to call in air support.

I hope so, but it could also be reverse. Because of this move, when the growers get rid of the current large brood for a market that is no longer there, I suspect they will cut back the volume and divert to another market. Sorta like the bean growers have done. Acreage on beans have cut back and moved to corn thanks to the high demand and prices from the ethanol producers.

If chicken drops it will do so for about a month then come right back up. So buy lots & lots and freeze it when the price is right.

Nope.  But I did break a mirror last week.
