Senate Pres John Cullerton in Illinois is looking to pass a " total gun ban bill" by Friday. Any phone calls form in or out of Sate would be appreciated on this. This shit makes me vomit. That last straw is bending to the point of breaking!

The 7th Circuit Court of Appeals would slap them down harder than a brick with weights tied on. The state's already been ordered to allow CCW, since their sweeping ban wasn't justified in court, so I seriously doubt that this will fly at all.

If this bill is passed and the governor signs it what do you think will happen?
I think the people of the state will do nothing. People are to set in their comfortable homes watching American Idol on TV.

Time will tell JM time will tell.

This. But we shouldn't be harsh on them. The realm of politics is far too broad and complex to keep up with without devoting the majority of your time to it. This is why we have a Republic.

The article kind of contridicts itself saying all guns would be banned and then says you can have guns and mags more then 10 rounds you just have to register them..... whats the reality of the bill?
-
To start the process I pray that a state does secede from the union and/or just doesn't play along, e.g. start their own currency backed with PM's, refuse to pay the federal government taxes, expands gun control rights, etc.

Never did understand why people in Illinois put up with this kind of crap from their elected officials. The state must the home to the worlds dumbest voters, that is all I can think of.

I've been wishing for it since the election. There is a point where a restoration becomes immpossible because the people are so starkly and evenly divided. Nothing can change in the country. It's like a huge game of tug of war between capitalism and socialism and we are just left with a morbid sickening abortion of a hybrid system that doesn't really work.

illinois is safe for now...

An amendment to a state bill to ban semi-automatic firearms and standard capacity magazines will be voted on tomorrow afternoon, Illinois State Rifle Association announced today in a late breaking alert.
?After getting nowhere in the Senate, the gun controllers have taken their campaign to destroy your rights to the Illinois House,? the alert warns Prairie State gun owners. ?Earlier today, Amendment #1 to SB2899 was introduced in the Illinois House of Representatives.
?Sponsored by rabidly anti-gun Rep. Eddie Acevedo, the amendment would do two things to you,? the alert continues. ?It would pick your pocket to pay for the confiscation and destruction of your own guns [and] It would ban more than 50 percent of the rifles and more than 80 percent of handguns owned by Illinois citizens.
