That article is creating a lot of discussions. One thing I want to point out. See that kid without a helmet?? He's motivated by his conscience. He was an Oathkeeper in a sense. And although they won't execute oathkeepers they will legally crucify them as an example. The prospect of going to a military prison is terrifying to most troops.
You read a lot about what people think the government is going to do, what liberties they are going to strip first/next/last, etc. The author drew no conclusion except what many of us already know: The majority of society knows something is looming on the horizon and it ain't pretty. The author states:
"What are we supposed to do instead? I am lost here. I honestly don?t know the answer. I suspect that a civil war is inevitable, and I?m too old for that, far too unprepared. The damage it would do?I quail at the thought. But what are we supposed to do?"
IMHO the answer is pretty straightforward. Prep as much as you can now. You may not be right when/if it comes but any prep is better than none. Develop your networks and pay attention now. I had to laugh at one comment on WRSA about folks that live in the country with their preps. My only comment to that would be "rather prepped and self reliant than stuck in a city and at the mercy of whatever faction is in charge for survival".
For a little historical perspective on how folks in the city will willingly allow a government to abuse them look no further than the Warsaw Ghetto purges. In the beginning the Polish Jews happily packed their suitcases and boarded those freight cars because they were starving and relocation sounded like salvation to them. One phrase that you should never forget that the Jews used as a battle cry in that ghetto: "Better to die fighting on my feet as a free man than on my knees as a slave". Although I doubt that such an extreme case would ever happen IMHO it would be ludicrous to think the .gov won't conduct actions like relocating folks - hell they have a history of it.
