TG: I find it strange that the federal government is intervening in your police situation down there. I was under the impression that they (the federal government) already exerted a large degree of control over your local policing authorities, through funding and aid.
 
If the feds wanted to stabilize the area without undermining the illusion of policing authority, they could do it via the back door.

But instead there is a public investigation that your chief appears not to be so keen about. Who'm then  released a large uncontrolled anti DOJ note. Open for everyone to read pitching him (bad guy chief) against (savior DoJ).

There’s new controversy over something one of the Albuquerque police officers who shot and killed James Boyd said hours before he pulled the trigger.

APD detective Keith Sandy is heard calling Boyd a lunatic, and it’s clear he spoke about using force against the homeless camper, something that was caught on a New Mexico State Police audio recording.

“This f*****g lunatic? (unintelligible) I’m going to shoot him with a (unintelligible) shotgun here in a second,” said Sandy.

The statement made by Sandy is about James Boyd. New Mexico ACLU director Peter Simonson says the audio is telling.

Bummer however not surprising. It is really tough to make a case against a police officer who exceeded his/her authority.

No news on the TV or in the paper about this. Not surprising either.

I for one am glad the kit gloves are coming off the authoritarians.

It makes their arguments harder to make with crap like this happening.

I mean cops just blatantly murdering people a good bit now and then just completely getting off the charges because of a jury and what not.

Its good to go.  I welcome it.

It just helps the arguments for no rulers and voluntaryism.

Like I said, I welcome this crap.  Let it get worse.

Once it gets so bad a lot of people will get together and give each other a green light to clean things up, the better.

I say bring it.
