Looks like it's on.
« on: August 03, 2020, 10:14:25 AM »

It looks like the demokkkrats will do anything to get Biden elected including a civil war.

 https://www.breitbart.com/2020-election/2020/08/02/democrats-war-game-for-election-includes-west-coast-secession-possible-civil-war-john-podesta/

Democrats are contemplating secession and potential civil war as they game out possible scenarios for a closely contested election, according to a report by Ben Smith in a New York Times column Sunday.

The bulk of Smith’s column is devoted to the question of how the media will handle Election Night coverage, given that the result may not be known for weeks. Vote-by-mail, which many states have only recently adopted — ostensibly, to prevent the spread of coronavirus in polling places — could lead to an uncertain result.

However, buried near the end of Smith’s column is a report that Democrats have participated in a “war game” in which they considered several possible outcomes of the election.

In one scenario, John Podesta — the former chair of Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign, and a leading figure in party circles — played former Vice President Joe Biden, and refused to concede the election.

The result: the threat of secession by the entire West Coast, followed by the possible intervention of the U.S. armed forces:

But conveniently, a group of former top government officials called the Transition Integrity Project actually gamed four possible scenarios, including one that doesn’t look that different from 2016: a big popular win for Mr. Biden, and a narrow electoral defeat, presumably reached after weeks of counting the votes in Pennsylvania. For their war game, they cast John Podesta, who was Hillary Clinton’s campaign chairman, in the role of Mr. Biden. They expected him, when the votes came in, to concede, just as Mrs. Clinton had.

But Mr. Podesta, playing Mr. Biden, shocked the organizers by saying he felt his party wouldn’t let him concede. Alleging voter suppression, he persuaded the governors of Wisconsin and Michigan to send pro-Biden electors to the Electoral College.

In that scenario, California, Oregon, and Washington then threatened to secede from the United States if Mr. Trump took office as planned. The House named Mr. Biden president; the Senate and White House stuck with Mr. Trump. At that point in the scenario, the nation stopped looking to the media for cues, and waited to see what the military would do.

Notably, on Election Night in 2016, Podesta publicly refused to concede the election to President Donald Trump

I think a lot of folks wouldn't have any objections if the entire west coast seceded.  I would certainly encourage them to do so.  Of course, we would need to build another fence...

Damn!! I hope I get my wish. I've been praying for Washington, Oregon, California, New York, New Jersey, Massachusetts, and Illinois to secede. They've been the bane of society for many years and having them secede would be great fun to watch as they turn into a 3rd world country.

There are 32 military bases in California and you just know that the President knows about this article. My questions are.
Is he checking out the Base Commanders and their execs? At the first sign of trouble what would be his first move?
Will Washington and Oregon join in with California?
I have a 100 more questions but I'll leave it for now.

Bwahahaha.... :lmfao: Can you imagine what the consequences would be if the US Government removed everything from the California Military bases and closed them down. :DrillSgt: The economic impact of that alone would destroy California. :suicide: Then Mexico would move in and take California back. Well, maybe, if they wanted that POS land of immorality.

 Come on guys be serious.
Where will he get the troops to support his plan? Will they be Mexican cartels, Chinese or does he believe that there are enough of the military on his side?
We get a lot of our food from California and their GDP (?) is fifth in the world, larger than most countries.

You need to read Kurt Schlicter's novels to give you an idea of how the liberal/progressive State would operate and how the rest of the U.S. and the world would react.  Yes, California does currently produce a lot of food, but would it continue to do so?  Kansas, Florida, and many other States produce substantial quantities of food.  It wouldn't be the end of the world if the West Coast seceded.  At some point you have to consider whether it's worth dealing with these liberal/progressive idiots as they try to force their brand of communism on the rest of the country.  Just add New England and Chicago to the list of places where you're better off dead than Red.  Folks need to harden their hearts and prepare themselves mentally for the coming spicy times.  We may not want it too come, but it's coming down the tracks like a runaway diesel locomotive.  Many of us here at this site are older, and we've had relatively peaceful and bountiful decades of existence.  That is about to change.  Foreign and domestic enemies abound, and our government has been heavily infiltrated over the years.  As citizens we've become numb.  We need to wake up, and be ready to defend our country, our lives, and our culture.

Read them both and that's what scares me! I also read Alas Babylon and One second After.

Ok, lets game this out.

California's best attack angle would be taxes not troops - with import/export and products embargoes.  If they stopped shipping food and shut down software and high-tech support.  if they stopped interstate trade - especially if it included Oregon and Washington State - it would shut down shipping to and from the Pacific rim.  If they stopped paying federal taxes - California contributes as much as Texas and New York combined.  hard to fight a war when you can't buy bullets or feed the troops. (food and power will 'starve' out the feds in days in an arid climate like California.) strategically - the Sierra Madre, Sierra Nevadas and Cascades make a nicely working wall and constriction points to defend from any major ground assaults - or to control trade.  If the Feds blockaded the ports - it would take most of the 7th fleet if not more.  if drug interdiction rates are used as an analog - the resulting black market would only be a speed bump to their economy.
The only card the Fed's could really play would result in huge numbers of dead Americans - very bad from a propaganda front.  Just imagine how the press would play that out.  Especially the foreign press - they might well fall into the Cali side.  Imagine how New York and NH & VT might react - the feds could find themselves in a local guerrilla war.

California was floating an idea in the 1970's - push a legal challenge against the 16th amendment and have California collect federal taxes and demand equity between the collected states per capita.  The State would pay the owed fed taxes at its discretion.  it was just a money grab and never went anywhere - but it could serve as a template for the start of that kind of revolt.
it would snarl banking overnight and within a week or two fresh veg. would get very expensive.  In a month or two infrastructure would start failing - air freight for a Cat engine part is expensive.  they have about half the servers and internet hubs for the US.  it would hurt the East Coast and isolate the midwest - west of the Mississippi river.

In the end, both sides would likely pay way to high a price for the 'war' and just become a foot note in history.

my 2 cents woth

Thanks Kbop I never thought of it that way.
Couldn't the government cut off California's water and take them off of the power grid. If push came to shove a small EMP would shut down the whole west coast. Sounds unreasonable but would save many lives.
When your in a civil war all news goes through the government so the people would not find out for quite awhile.
What side would Southern California be on. There has been some talk of them seceding from the state.
I don't think President Trump would let it go so far as to have them seceding,I think at the first sign he will send in the troops, congress be damned.

I have been observing the unfolding political and societal happenings for a bit now. I am somewhat concerned due to the many from all sides of the equations stirring the pot.

Now first of all I am not referring to anyone here in this group. I am referring to others.

I am concerned that there appear to be many out there that are chomping at the bit for an armed conflict in the USA. I have seen prepper social media groups actively reporting on US Military movements in their local areas. (Yeah thanks for blowing OPSEC for or troops) That and people from all walks of life screaming for violent action to be taken against anyone that does not believe as they do.

Now I still have faith in the military being true to their oaths and not fragmenting on political lines. (As retired Army I declare my bias here)

If things don't go horribly wrong in the near time. I believe that the radicals on all sides are going to tear each other apart for not being radical enough.

Let us hope

@JoJo,  EMP is an indiscriminate weapon.  In the described situation - pop one and the news media and social media will be full of pics of dead grandmas because their O2 enrichers failed or babies in NICus dying with grieving moms attached.  it would be seen as an attack on the American people not an attack on a 'protesting' government - it would be proof to the rest of the world that the feds had lost the will of the people - its how propaganda works.  then there is the very real threat of Cali doing the same to the East Coast - hence my comment about the cost of a violent split.  Something to consider about news - controlled as it is.  Everytime a news story is contradicted by first hand eye witnesses (say on social media) the believably of the MSM diminishes.   Eventually you loose faith in the MSM and the government giving it its censored views - its going on in China right now.

on the succession issue -at the start it will be a legal protest with supreme court cases and the like.  this gives the populace time to 'normalize' the situation - in the end it will look like the 'unreasonable' and 'unconstitutional' feds started it.  something akin to the frog in the pot.  the first US Civil war started that way.

@Kbop  Which do you think will come first? I believe President Trump won't fool around and declare Marcel Law and send in the troops. Cut off the head of the beast.

maybe not a warm fuzzy here - but i have no clue.
Tensions are running high and we are in uncertain times.  For me, i usually go by this:

“When I look back on all these worries, I remember the story of the old man who said on his deathbed that he had had a lot of trouble in his life, most of which had never happened” - Winston Churchill and others.

it took decades for the first american civil war to evolve - the seeds were sewn by the first constitutional convention.  i don't know where we are in this progression - only that i wont turn my back on it.

so for me its  :coffeeNews: not  :hiding:

Although I'll bet good money that Donald, as well as many others, think that HE can declare Marshall Law, HE can't. Only Congress can declare Marshall Law. As for secession, West Virginia seceded from Virginia in 1863 and when that happens, it must be approved by Congress. Sooooooooooo...... California or any part of it CAN secede as long as Congress approves it. As for me, I'm just sitting back and having my morning coffee, keeping my eyes and ears open, counting my ammo, and waiting to see what happens.

Someone recently said (it was new to me) that hitler could have never risen to power like he did if it wasnt for so many people "just doing their jobs".

To me this means our military and police will be split between those who believe in the Constitution and those who are just doing their jobs and following orders to confiscate guns, arrest those who do not conform to the "new normal", etc...

There will also be countless others who turn in family and friends for not complying

Still others will watch their friends and neighbors have their homes raided but will not lift a finger to help them

Every day I see more and more how few people respect the law and the few that do are being attacked for defending their property. Governors and mayors are feeding the fires burning in their cities and states in order to destroy this Country and regular citizens are watching it happen vs stepping up to the plate to end the craziness. This is ass backwards

We are in for a shitshow regardless of who wins in Nov.

That's what I said to my wife "Why aren't the people protecting their property?". I can't figure that out. At least in the rural areas they do.
