That video has a title "Gun Nuts Destroyed in this EPIC Video".  I have watched it 3 times and still waiting on the destruction to start. 

Burt you sure you got the right video.  Nothing from the OP that it was incorrectly titled?

I think we are having a miscommunication issue.

"Ron Swanson" is a famous character from a show called "Parks and Recreation"

He plays a "conservative" pro liberty, pro second amendment, anti government, "I want my steak eggs and bacon damnit!" guy.

His character appeals to us. but in reality....

His argument is actually a good one.  If you take it to its logical end. Most civilians (militia members)  in the revolution used rifles.  A muzzle loading black powder rifle.  That is good and factual.

The army generally used a muzzle loading black powder musket.  The main difference being the bore of the rifles were engraved with rifling causing the projectile to spin and improving accuracy immensely.  It was not unusual for the rifles of the day to be able to shoot 6 inch circles at 250 yards,  IIRC.

The military muskets were smoothbore.  They bore no rifling and were extremely inaccurate at longer distances.  About the best you would get from them was about 60-75 yards.

So, carrying that forward, we, as civilians ready to take up arms in support of our military and to defend the Constitution should be permitted to obtain and have available more sophisticated personal arms than what is standard issue for the soldiers of our army.

For arguments sake, shoot that down if you can.
