Title: In Case No One Noticed
Post by: Nemo on December 07, 2014, 08:40:25 PM
or read their newspaper or surfed the internet, Mary Landrieu, (D), Senator from Louisiana was in a run off election yesterday.  She was running against Bill Cassidy (R) a Representative.  He was elected by about 57% against 43%.  She has been in the Senate for 18 years and was seeking her 4th term of 6 years.

Basically he body slammed her.  His comments: Senate victory is 'exclamation mark' on Americans' dissatisfaction with Obama.  Regarding Obama getting body slammed in the Nov 4 election.

This puts the repubs at a 54-44 advantage over dems with 2 Senators as independents but they (I believe) will still caucus with the dems.

Personal thoughts-- body slam them both again, they deserve it.  8)

Yeah Nemo - Saw that.

On one side I am happy. On the other side the GOP have no gonads and will not do what they were sent to DC for, e.g. defund ICE, fire half the folks in the EPA and defund those clowns too, repeal ACA, etc. No balls!

I noticed and agree with JMac. There are a whole lot of departments that are useless and should be tossed. Like the NLRB Department of Education just to name two.
The two independents just might caucus with the Republicans. Independents are like moderates they usually go with the winner.

I will bet anybody whom wishes to take me up on my bet that instead of issuing a two month CR (Continuing Resolution) the GOPs will approve the 2014-2015 Federal budget before this Thursday.  No guts!

Anybody want to take me up on this bet?

Looks like they are doing a budget till September but only about 2 months CR on DHS and the immigration issue.  So it looks like a bit of both sides of you bet there JM.

The House is expected to vote first on the “cromnibus,” which includes 11 appropriations bills funding agencies through the fiscal year, and a continuing resolution (CR) that will fund the Department of Homeland Security for only a few months.

But then:

An action alert sent to Capitol Hill staffers from CQ Roll Call suggests that House Speaker John Boehner’s plan to fund President Barack Obama’s executive amnesty action for illegal aliens in a “CR-omnibus” bill may be beginning to fall apart—even as Nancy Pelosi’s top lieutenant, Steny Hoyer, has been pushing Democrats to help Boehner pass it.

deleted paragraph

“Senior GOP aides say the text of the so-called "CRomnibus" bill  may not be released Monday, as initially anticipated,” CQ Roll Call said in the alert. “Several issues appeared to be holding up last-minute negotiations on the wrap-up government spending package, the staffers said. Lawmakers will likely need to clear a very short-term continuing resolution, since current spending expires Dec. 11. A House GOP appropriations aide said the committee hopes to file that bill tonight.”

Here's the deal...Speaker Boehner is a drunk and "they" have something on him. I am thinking an illicit act with a goat or sheep. So he will throw away the Constitution to save his reputation and or lifestyle.

Stay tuned... :coffeeNews:
