How to tell if you are dealing with a nut case
« on: April 04, 2022, 12:23:12 AM »
About 60 years ago when I was in High School, I had a very bright Government teacher who was a Marine in the 2nd World War. To say he was patriotic would be an understatement. One day, he drew a clock on the blackboard and put the numbers on it. He said that if you were politically Moderate, you would place the clock hands between 11 and 1 o'clock. If you were politically left you would place the hands around 9 o'clock.  If you were politically right you would place the hands around 3 o'clock. If you were politically radically left you would place the hands around 6 o'clock. If you were politically radically right you would also place the hands around 6 o'clock. Then he said that Both the Radically Left and the Radically Right acted exactly the same and both were very dangerous to our country. I never forgot that lesson and I use the clock mentally in my head when I discuss politics with people. I strongly avoid the 6 o'clockers. :chuky:

I would suggest that the 6 O' clockers are missing something in their lives and use their radically left or right ideology to help plug what they are missing.

I think that it is possible that the 6 o'clockers have had some traumatic event to push them into being radical or they have been persuaded (Brainwashed) to the point of radicalism. On the other hand, they may feel superior to others and believe that they know more than anyone else and everyone who disagrees with them are stupid fools who need to be ruled by them. No matter what the case, I avoid them like the plague. They are sick and there is no cure for them.

Interesting

I would argue that people do whatever research "they" need to support their beliefs and then take a stand or hide in the middle.

These people cant see where they are on the clock and consider themselves in the right position while everyone else is radical.

Govt will change the positions of the hands to make themselves look moderate and everyone else look radical. The media will fall in lockstep to blindly support the govt
