No offense, but those videos are very one-sided and show only a segment of what is transpiring.  Until COMPLETE videos are available which show what happened PRIOR to all these arrests, I'm going to remain skeptical.

i absolutely agree. i think in a lot of cases the protestors ask for it... they are blocking streets...the cops have to get them open some how..so they run mofo's over with bikes... shouldve moved.

I've only got a couple of thoughts about these protests.

If they would reduce their demands to getting rid of lobbyists and outside influence on government, and get rid of the Federal Reserve.  They would solve most of the problems they are protesting about and have 3/4's of the nation marching with them.  But solving the problem isn't really the goal of why these protests were started is it?

It notice that the protests in Arab countries and Europe have been a lot more violent than those in the U.S.  I wonder about the reason for this.  Are Americans less violent and better behaved?  Are the police that much more intimidating here?  Is it the fluoride in the water taming people down?  Are the protesters less committed to their cause and are just looking for something to do or the "it" place to hang out?

I'm not sure.  But I wonder at what point it turns violent.

yeah sledge i also wondered why othe countries turned violent very quickly... i think it might be a combination. they are more violent by nature, less behaved, and the police are weaker in other countries i think. we truely have been brain washed in america to be compliant. now i think there are still peaceful protestors in other countries but they are shadowed by the ones out for no other reason other then to fuck shit up. wether thats a good or bad energy is anyones guess.

I agree the video is incomplete but why don't the cops just break out the tear gas, sound cannons and water cannons.  Oh and don't forget the dogs.  Call up the military, then the protesters will be outnumbered!

I've already made my views on this type of thing known in another thread.  That cop should pray to God that she isn't related to someone like me.  If she is then someone will be hunting him down.

Again, another case of a segment of a video that shows JUST someone getting nailed.  What happened JUST PRIOR to the video clip?  All we see is a cop turning around and decking someone, then raising is hands to his forehead like he just realized he decked a chick.  What happened to make the cop turn around so defensively?  We'll never know because they don't show that part....conveniently.

Some of you guys are buying into this "we are the 99%" propaganda.  They obviously have the ENTIRE video, so why in EVERY INSTANCE do they ONLY show the portion of these videos which make the cops look horrible?

Kilt I don't automatically side against cops.  My wife and I both come from families loaded with cops.( fathers, mothers, brothers and cousins.)  Some of my best friends work up and down the coast in police and sheriffs offices or are retired cops.  My next door neighbor for years before I bought this place was the Sheriff"s Office SWAT Team Commander.   I'm one of the few civilians who can use the City Police Range Facility whenever I want. ( Don't ask me how we afford that thing.  It's got a freaking control tower like an airport.  I still think it's DHS funding.)  I like cops fine and support them whenever possible.

Even though I've come to learn that the Justice System is a joke.  Whether your talking about putting criminals away or protecting the innocent.  What amazes me is that "it's" the best there is.

But if a cop screws up and acts like a total jerk I've got no problem in calling them out either.  Short of her trying to stab him with something his action was uncalled for.

That's just my opinion.  I know yours is different.

Sledge, I wasn't referring to you specifically....my statements were more general in nature.

Quote

And this is exactly my point....because we DON'T know what she or ANYONE ELSE was doing just prior to this video clip.  These videos exist to serve one purpose only: to demonize the police.  If they existed for any other purpose, they would be showing the entire episode.  As such, people are getting a rise over 3 seconds of a contact that probably was at the tail end of a contact several minutes long.  All this does is spread dis-information and hides the TRUE purpose of these protests.

And for the record, there isn't a single police officer out there that I trust.  At all.  Not one.  I am as critical about police as they come...but this video and ALL the others like it don't tell the entire story about what is happening there.  I won't join in on the cop bashing until the entire episode is released so I can see for myself what transpired.  Until then, its just hearsay.

LOL.  I haven't got a choice.  Some are family and some are guys I grew up with.  Some I would have pegged in their younger days as going to prison, but they turned out to be cops.  Most of them have a wild streak.  I sure you've been to a few cop parties and know what I mean.  They can be some real idiots when liquor's involved.

I'm a law abiding citizen so I don't have problems with cops.  Haven't had as much as a speeding or parking ticket in 20 years.   A peaceful kind of guy, ya know.
