US gives guns to Al-Qaeda protege

The conflict in Syria is intensifying and the UN is unable to agree on a solution to end the bloodshed. Meanwhile, US politicians are calling to arm opposition forces, amid suspicions the US may already be supplying weapons through its Arab allies.

In spite of the fears that providing anti-governmental rebels in Syria could lead to an irreversible escalation of the conflict and descent into civil war, US politicians are starting to put pressure on Washington.

my buddy put it well (with regards to a nuclear Iran and/or any other mooslim state) : it's like a schoolyard bully. every day the bully picks on the same nerd. every day, same thing. stomp this same nerd over and over and over. finally one day the bully gets word through the grapevine that the nerd has told a few of his nerd buddies that he's thinking about getting a pocketknife and the next time that bully comes to stomp him in the schoolyard, he's gonna cut that motherfucker. now, what sounds like a more reasonable way for the bully to handle this? he can either A: gather up a few of his bully friends and stomp that nerd so hard he'll be too scared to go get his pocketknife, or B: just stop fucking with the nerd all together and the kid won't have a reason to pull a knife in the first place. you decide.
