Awful news, haven't heard yet if there are any dead, but I'm hearing dozens injured.

Apparently there were TWO devices that went off. Here is a picture of the area, depending on where you work this might be a NSFW photo.

Police apparently blowing up another device according to scanner traffic.

All off-duty police officers called onto duty.

Keeping any further runners out of the area.

Thoughts that come to mind.

*First off crappy situation and I hope the victims and their relatives have the best possible outcome.

*It was only a matter of time and Im not surprised that it happened. Its more of a when and where surprise. Wonder if it is Islamic influenced or native bred (please dont be a prepper) [img]http://www.arrse.co.uk/at

*Wonder how this will affect the gun control debate?

Scanner reporting looking for a yellow Penske rental truck that was trying to gain access to explosion area with medical supplies was turned away. They now want to talk to this driver.

I feel bad for all the victims of government restrictions of the 2nd ammendment that we lose every day. Unrelated to this story but much more serious. Except that both are government funded tragedies.

Scanner traffic has died down, with alot moved to other channels. Boston does have top-notch trauma units, so those injured are at least in the best hands possible given the situation. Saw a pretty gruesome twitter pic of some poor guy with at least one leg blown-off, similar to an IED amputation. Prayers to those who have died and those injured, strength to all the families involved.

My point is they will outlaw the components.

Isnt it jus ammomnium nitrate and aluminum powder? You can still get amonium nitrate even though it was used at OKC.

Good reason to keep a tourniquet in your EDC if possible. Perhaps a triangle bandage and a sturdy pen would work better for EDC.

Thanks for reminding me Ken my good man!

The Patriot Nurse posted this lil gem on her facebook page in light of current events.

I like how he uses everday carry items (to regular people) to improvise a tourniquet. Just sub the tri bandage for a large handerchief and its actual common items carried by people. Hanky, carabiner, and keys with key ring and your set!

The belt I wear can be substituted in as a tourniquet.
