Would be much more impressed if he became libertarian. :P

Yeah, we could split hairs on what parties he talks about. But hey, he's talking about individual freedom and responsibility. That alone makes it worth listening to. Democrats could become Jeffersonians and Republicans could become Lincolnites again if they all practiced it. Heck, America could go back to the glory days if everyone practiced it, and that's what he's encouraging.

Good video! Too bad that more of the 93% of African Americans that voted for Obama, didn't know some of these facts. I wonder how much it would have mattered. A lot, hopefully.

The general reason I posted this was because of his ideals. I don't agree with political parties. It's something that has stuck with me since I was a kid. George Washington was staunchly against them; as I will be to the day I die. Perhaps there's something in that to defeating the status quo  ;) Either way, it's not that he simply changed political affiliations. It's that he stood up from opposing lines and walked across to the other side. Imagine something like that occurring during the Civil War before a battle. Hopefully it inspires others.

WW, I appreciate his words, but maybe I'm just too jaded to see it as nothing more than some slick politicking. He crossed to the opposing side, but what about when both side are equally unfit to govern? If he really wanted to impress, he'd see that the Dems and GOP are nothing but a cancer and pick neither. Thanks for posting the video though.

And if the libertarian party became dominant in Washington, and it was plagued with the same types of politicians, would you then say that everyone in the Libertarian party, and the party itself, was inherently bad?

If not then why do you say that very same thing about the GOP and Democratic Party?

I am with White Wolf. These are PEOPLE problems. If the Libertarian party was the dominant party, you would see the same underhanded political bull crap and irresponsibility that plagues the other partys.

No way I could speculate about what the Libertarian party would be like if they had any real power. Would like to think that libertarians could do it better, or maybe not. We'll never know as long as people keep on sucking the teat of the two-party system.
