Benghazi All Over Again
« on: April 18, 2013, 11:37:11 AM »
So it seems that Barry is trying to cover up something again.

Quote
Key points:

On Sean Hannity?s Fox News program Wednesday night, terror expert Steve Emerson cited sources saying Abdul Rahman Ali Alharbi, the Saudi national who was briefly named a ?person of interest? in the Boston Marathon bombings, is being deported on Tuesday.
Thursday morning, Glenn Beck revealed on radio that TheBlaze was informed by sources that the Saudi national?s visa had been revoked and he was, in fact, going to be deported on ?security and related grounds.?
Among other things, sources told TheBlaze that the Saudi national had ties to a well-connected Saudi family and that his deportation was set to be framed as a ?voluntary? departure to be with his family.
A file, called an ?event,? was started on him three days ago.
While discussing the issue on radio, TheBlaze?s Chief Content Officer Joel Cheatwood revealed that the government is now considering not deported Ali Alharbi...

Please understand that three verifications were required for each fact within the story. It is worth reading the whole report.

Could be something as simple as concern for his safety, due to anger from the bombings, even if he is cleared of any wrong-doing. Given the reaction to muslims after 9-11, it doesn't seem that far-fetched. Just a bit of devils-advocacy, which I am prone to do.

I do. Not only crimes against muslims simply because they were muslims or looked like them, but plenty of bigotry and trash-talking on a day-to-day level against the religion and it's adherents. Take a trip down memory lane with Google my friends.

Thx Crudos however I do not think the items posted in your article is much stuff, e.g. hatred, murder, mobs of Christians stringing up Muslims, etc.

My wife and I flew out to Seattle 9/14/2001 to take possession of a Trawler we had chartered for 10 days. There were Muslims on the airplane and nobody gave them a second glance.

Then there is....

Christians living in Libya have been rounded up, beaten, and accused of proselytism, in the latest sign of the militant Islamism affecting the country since the revolution.

Police grabbed computer science graduate Alber Saber from his Cairo home last week after neighbors accused him of uploading sections of the film "Innocence of Muslims", rights activists said.
The neighbors also accused Saber, 27, of making a new movie that mocks all religions. He was jailed for 15 days pending investigations.

Ayman Labib, a Christian, was beaten to death by Muslim classmates in a murder case that punctuates the protracted sectarian tension between Christians and Muslims in southern Egypt, where a bulk of Egypt?s Christians live. Two boys have been convicted of his death and are now serving three-year prison sentences. But for a forgotten community in Egypt?s hinterlands, there?s a feeling that justice has not been served.

I do not remember Americans doing anything like this to Muslims.

JM, I'm at a loss, what do the incidents you posted have to do with ill-will toward muslims in America after 9-11? I guess we all have selective memory loss at times, whether by choice or sub-consciously. I'm certainly guilty of it at times.

Not selective memory Crudos just old ;-)

I truly do not remember mass Muslim beating's or killing's. Now granted I was in Canada for a week or two post 911 however I do not remember any Muslim atrocities like what Christians are experiencing in the Middle East currently.

Maybe the the Seattle, Vancouver, Providence stations didn't cover it. Maybe you living close to Dearborn , MI. or Chicago, IL. you heard more as there are many Muslim communities in that area of the country.

JM, I didn't say there was mass muslim beatings or killings, but the USA Today article does have links about the dramatic rise of anti-muslim hate crimes after 9-11. That was my point.

Like with any religion there will always be bigots. I was in school at the time of 9/11 and in one of my classes there was a Jordanian national. Shit you not, the first thing that left his lips after seeing what happened was "If Islam goes to war with America I'll kill you." He said the same thing to my best friend later that day. I proceeded to find him later and tell him if he as much as looked at me or him wrong again I'd knock his ass out and scorch out his eyes with a lighter. Some might call that extreme, but after leaving class and seeing Muslims rejoicing outside of the classrooms I'd had enough. So as far as "hate" after 9/11  ::) Had some of them not been rejoicing like assholes they'd not have received the blow back. Aside from that I've not been bothered by any Muslims and I actually tend to enjoy conversations about theology with them.

You want to read a real case of hostility towards someone? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Steve_Bartman_incident
