Really, No, don't let them

?Many of us. Us. People like you and me. We don?t fit, belong, remain. We are strangers and enemies and misfits. Maybe it?s the color of our skin, or the books we read, or the empty smiles we don?t grin.
Maybe it?s something deeper, truer, and bigger. Life will be harder for us than it will for them. Them. Those that, following the pack, wish for and find the comfortable pleasures of hate and ruin. We don?t have that privilege. We never did, did we?
They say: don?t let the bastards get you down. But they are wrong. Let the bastards get you down. At least that way you still know which way is up.
The bastards are many, and they are multiplying by the day. They outnumber you and I like the stars outnumber the sky. The coming times will be harder than hard, crueler than cruel. A long winter of the human spirit is falling now. And that is exactly why.
Don?t let the bastards turn you into one of them.?

It's been my experience that, thought you CAN tell a person by their friends, I usually learn more about them by identifying their enemies.
