Due to a breakdown in negotiations, the Dish cable/satellite company is no longer carrying the Fox News Channel or the Fox Business Channel.
I do not know whom the aggressor is in this drama however if you use Dish for your TV provider I would suggest that you contact both parties to complain - I did.
-
I say the Dish Network subscribers are lucky. No propaganda, outright lies, and fear mongering for a few days or weeks while they sort it out. ;) You know over 60% of their statements are lies.

I had dishnet for awhile - this happens all the time. the media provider wants more money and threatens to pull the programming. dishnet wants to keep its bottom line and threatens to stop airing the feed. then both sides start talking about how this could cause the next mass extinction.
-
when the deadline hits the feed stops and both sides loose. eventually they come to some type of agreement and the feed comes back on. I suspect they will have a 'meeting of the minds' within a month. - at least that's the typical pattern I've seen.
-
I suspect you don't see this on larger cable orgs because both sides have too much to loose.
-
Wellie, as always I respect your opinion.
My opinion is that the citizenry need more than just the MSM (NBC, ABC, CBS), MSNBC, CCN, etc. Diversity is what makes us all strong.
-
Diversity of propaganda? No thanks JM.
-
Yes you are correct Crudos - The Main Stream Media (ABC,CBC, NBC) is a propaganda arm of the Obama administration.

Half plus of their ratings are inaccurate, for example:
John Stossel
"There is no good data showing secondhand smoke kills people." They say false because Scientific Consensus says otherwise. Question -- Is scientific consensus good data?? IMHO No, so their false is inaccurate.
Bill O'Reilly
"In 2012, 123 African-Americans were shot dead by police. ... Same year, 326 whites were killed by police." Your source says Mostly False because-- Government's best data is flawed. But O'Reilly is relying on the Uniform Crime Report published by the Federal Bureau of Investigation. If you cannot rely on the FBI, who can you rely on? So their Mostly False is again a bad evaluation.
Is any more necessary or should I shoot down the majority of their inaccuracies?
Politifact is not a reliable assessment.

Funny... I posted this not to start a debate on whether Fox is good or bad but to notify the forum members of the situation.
I also posted it that if you have Dish and like FNC then to put pressure on both parties to make nice and move on.
Just saying writing...

Sorry (if appropriate) but I am one of those pencil neck libertarians who . . .. Well in accord with the original intent of the thread will leave it at that.

Earlier this year Direct TV went thru the same thing with the weather channel. It lasted about a month. You never hear all of the details but on the plus side, D TV brought weather nation on board so now I can watch the weather forecast when I want to instead of waiting for a break in a weather channel show.

Well we have the old back-up which we have been using - Sirius radio.
I am sure I have written about this in the past but we have a 12 volt back-up system hooked to solar panel. One of the items hooked up to the system is a marine stereo radio with a satellite/Sirius feed.

We should boycott all the major government-run propaganda stations.

exactly who would that be? BBC, Al Jezeera, DV, RT or SKY - I'm not too sure you would be able to find a "Fair and Balanced" :sarcasm: news outlet since W. R. Hearst. If there isn't a government bias, there will be a corporate or religious or ...

if you find one please share! (not Sarcasm).

I have something similar - PV with a xantrex power pack. I have several radios I can power from it. I like that it is all one piece and I can toss it into my car when I need it. you can build your own cheaper but this thing will take a beating and keep working.
