California: Gun Shop Told to Take Down Sign - 80% Lowers
« on: February 26, 2014, 11:59:15 AM »
In short if you do not want to watch NUTANFANCY's interview of the shop owner here is the poop in a few lines.

> Gun shop owner in N.Cal. sells 80% completed lower receivers.
> In his window he has a sign that reads: Unserialized. Reregistration. Legal
> Well the town told the shop owner to take it down because ""Take down the sign or go to jail. We do
    not approve of guns...or you."
> There are no laws on the towns books banning a sign such as the store owners sign.
> He has so far spent approx. $10,000- on appeals.

Here is the article.

And Nutanfancy's interview:
CTA: City Threatens Tactical Store with Jail Time for AR-15 Sign

Good for him. I hope he wins and spends another 10K on a jumbotron to really do some advertising. Id pitch him a few bucks for the cause.

And so the attack's continue.

The bummer that the polymer 80% lowers have been pulled off of the market. BATF&E with the help of the Justice Department, will drag out the whole deal till Congress passes a new law about 80% lowers. The new law will be attached to some bill that needs to be passed and the attachment will not happen till the 11th hour so citizens can not react and put the pressure on.

IMO, if you have a few extra $100- bills (I do not) I would buy some aluminum ones while they are available. Put them away in hopes the BATF&E looses and the Politian's stay clueless. You can always resell them.  ;)

The polymer 80% lowers are too cool and a bit easier to mill-out though

They are about 1 hour away from me. A couple thousand armed men to protect their store might be nice.

Well it seems that the BATF&E has spoken and raided Ares Armor on Saturday. I think that Rep. Waxman presented a bill (That went nowhere) that would redefine 80% lowers.

Quote
The Blaze Reported:
Federal agents on Saturday executed a search warrant on a gun parts store in California, despite the store owner filing a temporary restraining order against their agency.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives had demanded that Dimitri Karras, the CEO of Ares Armor in National City, Calif., turn over the names of nearly 5,000 customers who had purchased an 80 percent lower receiver that reportedly failed to meet ATF specifications.

Karras, a former U.S. Marine, agreed to turn over the receivers, but refused to reveal the names of his customers. He then filed the restraining order...

Here is Ares Armor address. Check them out and if you need any gear please order from our comrades in CA.

If the BATFE starts paying visits to the people who bought those 80% lowers... not good.

Let's see how many of these fucking ''patriots" say they'll stand with CA like they did with CT. Lets see how many actually show up... I am GRATEFUL that this crap is happening near me rather then far away. If its going to happen, the closer the better.

All good points Ken.

I hope that nobody researches the names of the LEO's that participated on the warrant and post their home addresses. That would surly suck.
