Bump Stock _ Regulation

Well now...Here we are at the cusp of another 'slippery slope' gun regulation, not law. Our Legislature will not pass a bump stock law so they are asking the BATF&E to do it through government regulation.

I do not own a 'bump stock' and really do not care if one ever comes into my possession; However. with the BATF&E writing regulation and Congress not writing & passing laws we open up a legal way to regulate firearms in the future by a Government Bureaucracy.

I am aware you have all written letters ad nauseam on similar subjects before but alas you will need to do so again. Here is some background info from James Rawles. As he cautions, I would NOT copy & paste what he wrote as it will negate your input on the subject. Use it more as information when you sculpt your letter.

Remember, the fall of the Roman Empire was in part due to apathy. Also remember, the strength of the NRA is not the money they give to political races but us, the members of the NRA.

You should also consider joining the GOA, they are more pro 2A than the NRA

I heard on the radio yesterday some city/state (not sure which) has banned "assault weapons" and anyone not turning them in will be fined $1000/day. I'm not too sure what is going to happen but it could get ugly

Big banks and credit card co. are also conspiring to halt all transactions involving firearms and related products

Beating the Banks and Credit Card Companies is easy. Just use your card to buy Silver and then sell the Silver for cash and then go buy whatever the Hell you want. The TOWN in Illinois was Deerfield. What a load of crap. Deerfield is a little piss ant suburb about 20 miles north of Chicago. Just take your outlawed gun to a friends house in the next little piss ant suburb town, where its not outlawed, and have them keep it for you. When you want to go shooting, just go pick it up and do whatever you want and then drop it off and go home. The problem with the politicians is they want to outlaw the AR15. What a bunch of dumbasses. The AR15 is not the end all, do all, weapon. I don't own one and I don't want one. They don't understand that if someone wants to shoot them, they are not very likely to use an AR15 with a Bump Stock. They are more likely to pop their ass with a bolt action with a long barrel.

I suspect this law will go to the IL Supreme Court as in the states constitution there is a 2A type clause in it. The rub is...Why does one have to hire a lawyer to fight this unjust and illegal law?

When the left says, "we do not want to take a way your firearms...We just want to have sensible gun laws" is a lot of bunk.

In many states the mini 14 w/wood stock is legal but add a flash hider or folding stock and becomes an evil banned gun and turns the owner into a felon. BUT the function of the weapon never changes

Breen trying to keep up on firearms law news back in the states as of late.

I agree with the slippery slope analogy.

It looks like there is once again major efforts to get any type of firearm restriction law passed.

I suspect that the push is to get anything passed so as to open the door enough to push hard on sweeping changes.

My thoughts and prayers are with you all in the states. I pray that the gun grabbers do not get a toe in the door.
