In short the American people are angry. Primarily angry for not being listened to by the Elites (Democrat & Republican) in Washington DC. hence the shift to an "outsider." Someone who has never held political office or if have are hated by the Elites; Consequently Donald Trump and Sen. Ted Cruz have risen to the top not unlike cream from milking a Jersey cow.
Cruz is my first vote because he is hated by his colleagues especially because he called Majority Senator Mitch McConnell a
liar. He has also done things to try and spark the Senate and House to do things that their constituents sent them to Congress to do.
I also believe that Cruz is a true Constitional-ist and closest candidate to former President Ronald Reagan. With the election of Reagan post the Carter administration, the United states had a very strong economy until the weaning years of George W. Bush (AKA 43).
Now with that written, at this time; If Trump is the outright nominee for the GOP I will vote for him in November 2016. I just could not stomach another Obama four year term ala former Sec. of State Hillary Clinton.
My reservations with Trump circles around one thing: What is his core? What does he believe in? When a tough question comes to his desk will he rely on his religion or belief in the Constitution in making a decision? Or will he use his desire to make a deal.
I can see him supporting an Ugly Gun ban, support abortion in the second and third trimesters, penalize companies with tariffs for moving their manufacturing out of the country, etcetera. After all, he has supported these positions in the past.
Now if Cruz & Trump could get over their ego's and come to an agreed core belief - They would make an unstoppable ticket. This ticket would also caused the Elites in DC to tremble. There would certainly be a new Sheriff in town.
