Case scheduled for argument November 3.
If you aren't familiar with NYS Rifle and Pistol v. Corlett you should put yourself in time out until the arguments.

Let me make a prediction: the Supreme Cowards will find a way to deny basic human rights to Americans. Because otherwise people might say mean things about them on TV or the internet. Even if they decide the case for the NYS R&P Club, the commie thugs in the NYS government will just ignore it because they know nothing will be done about it.

Very good discussion of this case, with many good links in it to other good analysis. If you are interested. I think there is a fair chance it will come out with "constitutional carry" as the minimum 2A protection.

Vox.com has commentary. I am confident most here are at least a bit familiar with that website. I agree they are often screaming wild left wing hell will run loose in civilization socialist believers.
But IMHO they are seeing what has a good chance of happening.

The Supreme Court will hear a major Second Amendment case that could gut US gun laws
The Supreme Court could make the NRA’s dreams come true.
By Ian Millhiser Apr 26, 2021, 9:31am EDT
. . .
In fairness, there is one early sign that the Court may be inclined to place some limits on its decision in Corlett. Although the plaintiffs asked the Court to rule on a broad question — “whether the Second Amendment allows the government to prohibit ordinary law-abiding citizens from carrying handguns outside the home for self-defense” — the justices announced on Monday that they will only resolve a more narrow question: “whether the State’s denial of petitioners’ applications for concealed-carry licenses for self-defense violated the Second Amendment.”
Nevertheless, this narrower question is still broad enough to allow the Supreme Court to rewrite a decade of Second Amendment precedents, to unwind a consensus within the lower courts that permits many gun regulations to stand, and then to allow those lower courts to complete the process of dismantling other gun laws.
. . .
The current Court, in other words, is much more conservative than the Court that decided Heller in 2008. It’s not even clear that a majority of the current Court supports the portions of Heller that limit the scope of the Second Amendment — much less the kind of analysis that led the Second Circuit to uphold New York’s gun licensing law.
The future of gun control in the United States could be quite grim — and Corlett could mark the moment when lawmakers’ power to fight gun violence falls apart.

Don't forget about the Caetano v Massachusetts case. A Per Curian (unanimous) case shooting down MA law prohibiting stun gun possession.

I'd be ecstatic if they wrote a majority opinion that crushes gun control laws for all eternity, but I have no faith in this court at all. Zero. And there's no way that New York will just suddenly allow Constitutional Carry. Pretty sure they'd just ignore the ruling, since they know that every agency that might enforce the ruling is totally on their side.

I hope the Supreme Court will actually do the right thing, but I'm not optimistic. Now that Cuomotard is gone, I would hope that the SAFE act is repealed. Don't forget, gun owners in NY are limited to 10 round magazines in semi-auto firearms, and the registration of many models of firearms. The SAFE act and Cuomotard were a couple of the reasons why we moved to Tennessee, that and seven month long winters. :P

I have NO faith in any govt agency which includes scotus, they are all bought and paid for or threatened into submission

I have NO faith in any govt agency which includes scotus,
Don't say that. SCOTUS is the only one left worthy of any trust. Please don't crush the validity of the only govt thing I still believe in.

I used to believe that until the last election and they decided to not take the case. Thats total BS and they should have taken it and debated it and made a ruling regardless of the social media threats and cancel generation
They are gutless and the Constitution means nothing to them

Well, we better rip that bandaid off now, it'll only sting for a couple years. No one in government, especially at the fed level has any feeling for the American people except contempt. Might be a very few exceptions, but you could count them without having to take your shoes off.

Right now there are only 9. If that goes to 13 the U.S. will have ended.

Keep in mind that when the SHTF, all of you will be drafted to fight the Global New World Order (World Economic Forum). Notice how "we" are being ignored by "our" government, we see our future on steroids.
