Radicalized Muslim terrorist guy rents truck and drives down bike path killing about  8 and injuring about a dozen.  Gets out of truck after ramming school bus with a BB or pellet guns or similar.

The first guy to stop him from what he was doing was the good guy with a gun.  This instance a cop.

Were CCW reasonably acquirable in NYC it could easily have been Joe Decent citizen.

 My father a left handed shoemaker was held up at gunpoint and when the perp reached over to the register while watching my fathers right hand my father cut him across the back of the neck with his left hand. He took a knife to a gun fight and won and the police wanted to lock him up for using excessive force but the local store owners prevented it from happening.
This is common that's why no-one will assist you in NYC. The only friendly people in the city are transplants.

The LEO had one hit with 9 shots fired, I believe Joe Decent Citizen would have been better trained, self trained, to hit center mass and controlled shots

It is also funny how the point of inpact on the perp keeps changing. Abdomen, leg, hip - Which was it folks?

I noticed that too, if its only one hit how in the world can the location be changing? Although if it was the front of the hip that kind of covers the leg and abdomen areas but its still the hip, NOT the other areas
