Title: As Goes Virginia
Post by: Nemo on October 26, 2021, 02:40:43 PM
so goes the nation is a political commentary that has held true for many many years.  Watch next week.

The fan has a pretty good chance of staying clean for another couple years.

Youngkin just got rather good bump.  McAuliffe got 4 pinoccios from the Wash Post.

Washington Post hits McAuliffe with four Pinocchios for 'wildly' inflating Virginia's coronavirus numbers
Virginia gubernatorial candidate has repeatedly given wrong information about number of children hospitalized with coronavirus
By Brandon Gillespie | Fox News

Democratic Virginia gubernatorial candidate Terry McAuliffe's repeated false statements about the number of coronavirus cases and hospitalizations in the state came to a head Tuesday as The Washington Post awarded him its worst possible falsehood rating of four Pinocchios.

"The pandemic will continue to be a serious policy challenge for the next Virginia governor but there?s no reason for McAuliffe to hype the numbers. He earns Four Pinocchios," wrote The Post's resident fact-checker, Glenn Kessler after outlining each instance McAuliffe repeated the false figures. "He offers wildly inflated figures for child hospitalizations, suggesting again that these were daily figures and claiming twice that these many children were in ICUs. Instead, he appears to be citing a figure for all of the children hospitalized with covid-19 in Virginia over the past 19 months ? which is still inflated."

So, the Washington Post called a lefty like him a 4x Pinnochio; I stand in amazement.   :violin:

Generally, the leftists eat their own.

Think some good thoughts.  Election day is Tuesday.  SCOTUS on NY gun carry case is Wednesday for argument.

Current POS is gone.  Gov cannot succeed himself here.  Northam is gone.  McAuliffe was gov prior to Northam and trying for a second term.  Past couple weeks have been looking real real good for Youngkin.

I have been doing a fair bit on the politiking around here.  I think we will take it.  Northam (D) following McAuliffe was first time in LONG time elected gov was not of other part than sitting prez.

I stayed up as long as I could (2330 hrs.) waiting for the results and finally left it up to the Lord to finalize the election.

W3OOF and I were watching the NJ vote too with anticipation. This morning it looks like Murphy's challenger Ciattarelli is 1,100 votes ahead. Good news for NJ voters. I suspect that the Democrat party machine will find the votes though, to drag Murphy across the finish line in the end.

Stay tuned... :coffeeNews:

All good stuff folks.

Congratulations Virginians! Governor, Lt. Governor, and AG, plus I've been reading that they flipped the House of Delegates. Hopefully they'll reverse some of the stupid laws so I can have carry reciprocity again when I go there on vacation!

I lived in Norfolk during the crack years, there were gunshots in the neighborhood almost every night, I moved back because of an incident with the local dealers. Was nice to be somewhat protected when I took my family there, although it got cleaned up immensely in the years I was gone.
