First of all, I don't like the AFIP or whatever telling me what I can buy or not, and I fucking hate the actual government.
A lot of things in Ferfal article are true, but as usual it has a big BS extra.
The regulation was implemented today monday, and most exchange stores couldn't sell because they didn't have their computers set up to query the AFIP's system.
As a matter of fact, a lot of dollars were sold anyway, for sure less than usual, and the central bank had to use its reserves to keep the dollar at is current value again.
And the illegal sellers called "arbolitos" (little trees), didn't have much volume to sell because they get the dollars to sell from the people who this new measure restricts buying.
In here there are big operators who hire unemployed and people from the villas and pay them to buy dollars to later sell them in the black market, as those guys don't have a real income they are not going to be able to buy dollars anymore and the arbolitos wont have dollars to resell.
So... Ferfal always makes everything looks worse than it is, the AFIP is not rejecting the sells, what happened is that the exchange stores were not ready to handle the new validation, that it could happen, yes it could, but now it isn't.
I fucking hate when people twist facts to fit their agenda.

all I can say is "cut us some slack" lol...
Americans have been pumped full of "exceptionalism" from birth so many of us just assume that the rest of the world is just a bunch of morons. It comes as no surprise that the Argentinian people saw this legislation coming from a mile away and have taken steps to hedge themselves against it. good for you guys. keep up the good work and I truly wish the best for you and yours.
stay on top of your government. keep a close eye on any proposed legislation regarding your economy and/or civil liberties. By doing so, you will be living up to the "American Dream"... by and large, by doing so, you'll be doing more than the average American has done in over 40 years. (some would argue 100 years)
I can't even begin to understand what you guys are going through down there. I wish you nothing but the best, APX.
