America is Finally Waking Up

Last night my brother and I were sitting at the kitchen table up at the cabin mutually sipping an adult beverage, when he told me about a conversation he had recently with a life long friend of his.

My brothers lifelong friend works for the Dept. of Education in DC and lives somewhere just outside the belt way. My brothers friends wife also works for the Federal Government in one of the alphabet soup agencies there.

Well as the story goes my brother was talking to his friend around Halloween and the discussion turned to the floundering economy. My brothers friend started to talk to how great the economy was. "They are building new houses and business buildings all over" he told my brother. He went on to point out that he and his wife had just purchased new cars and now have season tickets to the Baltimore Ravens.

When my brother challenged him with facts like the U6 unemployment and inflation rate, Obama Care, IRS scandals, Benghazi, NSA, etc. he just poo pooed those things and claimed that those things were just Republican and media hype. 

Well I just laughed at my brothers friends naivety and we went on to another story.

Then this morning I read this article that I thought I would share with the group. In short it has to do with the Obama Ponzi scheme and how many folks who work in DC don't understand what is happening outside the belt way. 

Then I took a quick look at Obama's polls and Oh My God they are low and getting lower by the day. He is at a -20 when looking at Strongly approve vs. Strongly disapprove.

So a few questions for you to ponder through out your day and hopefully you will post your thoughts later on.

1) Will Washington DC ever really get a grasp of what it is like outside of DC?
2) Will the main stream media ever report what is really happening in the economy?
3) When will "Joe six pack" realize the pickle we are in? And if he/her does what will they do?

"Joe Sixpack" will realize that something is wrong when Wal-Mart is out of his Six Pack of Bud Light, the shelves are emptied at his local Wal-mart, and his credit card and cash cannot buy him anything.

Until then, Joe Sixpack will always remain asleep and in the dark.  As long as he's got his NFL Football on his TV, his Six Pack of Bud Light next to him, and his Wal-Mart, he'll be good to go forever in his mind.  Nothing is wrong at all.

I will say though, when things hit a citizens pocket book then they speak out. ACA is hitting 18-20M families this year. Next year year it will hit double that number.

Remember, the colonists were OK with Britain until they started to get hit in their pocket, e.g. stamp act, tea tax, boarding act, etc.

Shoot, the colonist had to put up with a whole lot less BS than we do right now.  A whole lot less.  Heck, the Tea Tax was miniscule compared to what we're taxed today.  We're taxed to death today.  Our leaders don't listen, represent, or actually do the most basic good financial choices out there.  They continue to grab more control over everything that we do.  Financially and Socially. 

The British were Pikers compared to the Communist, Socialist, Statist and Authoritarians we're dealing with today here. 

We literally traded 1 tyrant 3,000 miles away for 3,000 tyrants one mile away.

The area around DC.  Government is the new "CA. Gold Rush." This is an area that takes from people who produce something and given to people that produce nothing more than restrictions on the people who produce.

So according to the Washington Post... Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, both Dakotas, West Virginia, and Louisiana are full of uneducated, underachieving dumb-asses??

No, no , no SK. When you combine people with a high income and a higher level of education in mass. High quantity of both in combination.

This is not to say that there are not similar combinations in other locations but not to this extent.

I don't know what we are debating here SK. Do you not feel that with the growth of government over the past 10 years or so that more and more people are working for the Federal government? I just read a study that 41% of the new jobs created in the past year were for the Federal government.

38% of the folks who live in DC work for the Federal government alone. 

Just like back in 1934 when the NFA was implemented. The whole reason was that the 18th 21st Amendment was enacted and the Treasury department didn't wanted to let all of those revenue agents go. 

Someone needs to go into Washington and clean house - Period!

I would do it for a salary of $1.00.

I'm not arguing the government jobs growth.  I'm just pointing out how their map seems to suggest that those who live in the densest population areas are more educated and richer... when in fact many different parameters (such as number of pet owners, number of public transportation users, number of licensed pest exterminators, etc.) would lead to a map that looks about the same with the placement of red and yellow dots in the densest population areas.  I'm saying their map seems to be saying "Our big city lifestyle is what makes us smarter and richer" when that is nonsense because it does not take per-capita into account when calculating the statistic.

Maybe I'm over thinking it.
