Hi all,
So here in the UK we are feeling the pinch.
There is a housing crisis where landlords are selling up in reaction to a housing bubble. We were victim to this. Our landlady announced her intention to sell and gave us 2 months to get out. We came out ok and are in the new place, yet with a much higher rent.
The Russians are holding Europe hostage on oil and natural gas. This is creating a cost Of Living crisis. Energy bills are doubling and tripling as we speak. Unfortunately the fuel and energy companies are recording massive profits from this. Their are calls for the government to step in and reign in these companies. As of the moment their seems to be little political will to do so. I suspect it is going to take protests to move that sentiment.
The cost of transport is going to start hitting the food costs more and more as time goes on.
The political establishment has finally admitted that the winter will see the UK in a recession.
Nato countries providing military material support to the Ukraine appears to have netted better results than original expectations. I admit to waiting with baited breath for Russia to decide to attack those materials prior to them crossing the border into the Ukraine. That would create a massive escalation with huge risks of a much wider conflict. We will have to see how things go.
While things are and will be difficult over here for the foreseeable future. The good news is that COVID made prepping a great deal more popular and general preparedness much more of a part of every day life. I see this as a very good thing. Making then society here just a little less susceptible to the reality that life in general is normally susceptible to difficulties.
Cheers all
